If you want to rotate your tires, all the tires must be the same size. This can be a problem if your car is VDC-equipped. The following advice is from only one person and one car…
If you decide to do this, go all four with a size having an overall diameter close to the rears and not the fronts. I’ve tried both setups, and I was more successful with the rear overall diameter (26.7”) and not so good with all at the front overall diameter (25.9”). Presently I am running snow tires sized at 225/55-17” all-square. I haven’t had problems with VDC.

The car has 25,000 miles on it, I bought it a year ago, drive it daily, original front tires, I had to replace the rears just after I bought it, and they are bald in the centers and need to be replaced already.(10,000 miles) I need to do better than that! I don't have a problem changing to a 16" or 17" size.
Hello all. So im looking into wheels again and have 19x10 +15 rears. Im going with the nismo themed double staggered but instead of getting 18x9 front im thinking 18x10 +25 front.
Ill be running 265 35 18 and 285 35 19
Can anyone forsee any downsides to this double stagger square 10 setup?

Rears will be 1.6 inches taller than the front. The electronics will not like this.
A square setup like what this thread is about would be a 285/35-18 front with the 285/35-19 rear. This combo would work fine
I was running NT03+m 18x10.5 +30 front and rear with 275/35/18, 275/40/18 with no issues and handled great on my g35 coupe. My question is that I am picking up a set of 19x10+22 square volks. I am not sure of what tire size to run to keep the vdc happy. Thinking about a 275/35/19, 275/40/19 but then the tires would be too tall. A 275/30/19, 275/35/19 is closer to stock but the fronts will be at 25.5" and the rear would be 26". idk what to run
^^ RE:> “Thinking about a 275/35/19, 275/40/19 but then the tires would be too tall.”
Those sizes are a little too tall, but they do maintain the proper ratio front-to-rear. Because the ratio is good, It might be OK with VDC, but I cannot say for sure never having tested this.
As you suspected 275/30/19 with 275/35/19 is perfect and will work flawlessly with VDC.
Hey guys I currently have a squared 19x10.5 +22 TE37SL setup and I'm trying to figure out which tire setups would work with my vdc. I already have a pair of 275/35 so I would like to use that. My question is if I get another 275/35 for the fronts would it work? I've searched and came across contradicting statements. I have a g35 coupe btw. Any help will be greatly appreciated
I run identical heights front and rear with my winter tire setup on my VDC-equipped 2003 Performance model, and I haven't had problems. With this said Nissan states you must use a staggered height setup with VDC-equipped cars.
You probably should go with staggered heights (275/30/19 with 275/35/19) on your VDC-equipped car.
I should also add that if you do go all-square, go with the rear tire height, which is the tire size you have and ask about (275/35-19”). Do not use the front tire size (which would in your case with 19” wheels is 275/30-19”).
I have tested this with my all-square winter wheel/tire setup and VDC. I had problems with an all-square setup when using the front tire height on all four corners. I did not have any problems running all-square when running the rear height at all four corners.

Looking to run a square setup that is SCCA Street class compliant. I purchased a 2007 GT 350Z so I can run a 9" in the front and 10" in the rear. Can anyone confirm that the following will fit in the front with a 18x9 +23:
275/35/18 RE71R
285/30/18 RE71R
285/35/18 RS4
I should mention, current SCCA Street rules allow me to change the offset of the wheel by + or - 7 mm. My thought was to maximize the cars foot print by pushing everything out the maximum 7mm. As I will be getting Forgestars I can adjust the offset from 30 to 23. I am looking to fit as much tire up front as possible that will not rub or cause me any issues driving the car to limit on stock springs with revalved Bilsteins. In the rear I would run the exact same tire on a 18x10 +23 rim, all of the mentioned sizes should fit fine?

Any of those tires will work, but I do need to ask about the rules, can you run front camber arms ?
Hello guys hopefully this thread didn’t die. Looking for advice on moving over to a square setup. First off my car is a daily and a weekend warrior. My entire suspension is done, well for the most part 😂.
Current setup
Front: 18x9.5 +10, 265/35/18
Rear: 18x10.5 +12, 285/35/18
i essentially want to buy another set of rear wheels for the front. First problem is will they fit with a proper tire. New setup I’m looking for a grippy tire like an Toyo R888 but sizes are weird. The next problem is will the new tire and wheel combo mess with the
If you have pictures of wheels square with that spec wheel I would appreciate. Also if you guys have any recommendations for grippy tires equivalent to R888’s drop them below.
Thank you in advance!
Pictures or from last event hopefully it will help visualize current setup
275/35-18 is the common setup, looks like you need more front camber and you can play around with a quick test fit by tossing those rears up front. My car currently has 2285/35-18 all around
I run 285/30 on my 10.5 +15 RPF1s. They rub a tad in the rear on big dips in the track (T6 at Laguna Seca). It's a good set-up otherwise. I have a lot of camber though (3.5 front, 2.5 rear). I know at least two guys that rub with 275s on 18x9.5 +15s, so you need to be prepared to do more fender work or camber if you plan on running a spacer. I see no room for a spacer on my set-up; at first look my front wheels actually stick out a bit. Those tiny tire sizes may work though. I see no reason to run that wide wheel with a narrow tire though, since a wider RPF1 doesn't give you any change in lip or wheel concavity. . . so. . .
I have the same setup as you but on stock suspension, +12 offset, and I keep getting the slip on the dash... other than putting a switch for the bypass is there any other solutions besides changing my setup?
