is this a bad idea?
Ok. I already have two Falken FK 452 245/45/18 that i bought forever ago and never put on. My tires front and back are starting to get a little bald. My buddy gave me, for free, two tires of size 275/35/18 that Im pretty sure are unfortunately going to be useless to me since I have stock 8.5 rims and have no intent on buying new ones. So Ive been thinking of buying some spacers and spacing out the stock rims to be more flush, buying two new tires for the rear, and spacing those out as well. I know the rear max width is 265 but, what side wall height would look good? I really dont like super low pro tires and I want to keep some beef to the rear without the thing looking like a truck tire. So would increasing the sidewall to a 265/50 or 55 look rediculous? Or should I just stick to the 265/45, space them nicely and roll the fenders?

Yeah I can.....but it doesnt help to know the projected size when you really dont have a grasp on how it will look. Just because the tire calculator says the side wall will be x" high doesnt mean I cant see what others who have had the same, or close to the same tire size thought about it. jeez. Harsh much?

I guess if you have to ask then you already know the answer...
If I was going to put 50 series on they would be drag radials.
My decision is as follows:
245/45 up front with spacer and roll the fenders.
Widen the rear rims to 10.5 and run 305/45, space and roll.

OK. someone talk some sense into me.
I do not have FI, nor do I ever see the disposable funds available anytime soon.
Is their any damn point in taking the rear rims to a machine shop and having them widened to 10.5" and putting 295 or 305 tires on them? Is it a total waste of money? Would I be better off putting some 265's on the stock rim and spacing them? Should I be conservative and buy 255's again? So to sum up:
overboard or not?
widening of rear rims $175 x 2= $350 plus shipping
new tires at 295 AR = $310 x2= $620 plus shipping plus mount and balance.
Spacers $200
is it really worth damn near 1200 dollars to do this? as opposed to:
265 or 255 tires will be 200 bucks a peice = 400 dollars plus shipping
spacers 200 dollars
little over 600 dollars after all said and done.
which is the better option?
