Now running 305/35/18 Et streets.... No more spinning

What is your rear camber?

A 285 should hook 456whp in 2nd gear, IF properly setup. Otherwise you are upgrading blindly.

-1 camber. exactly my point 285's would barely hold unless it was like 25C or above. wanted something that will hold up in first and a dig on the street. I run 255/50/16 et streets at the track and it hooks great but that's an entirely different story. Oh btw ask Sasha how wonderful our shitty roads are (rocks cracks mud etc) if it were pristine blacktop it would be a totally different story yet again

Thanks. I was really tossed up between these and the Michelin Pilot Super Sport or a PS2 in a 265/35 & 295/30. But I really wanted a 305 for the rears. Now my only concern is driving in the unannounced Houston downpours. But oh well... Looking at getting a second car so hopefully I won't be driving that often on them.

i luv my mickey thompson dr's, they hold all of the powa as long as its over prob about 70, otherwise any colder you can't stab the throttle like a nut, thats on the 560rwhp tune with a 3.5fd. 305's .

Same size exactly (wheels/tires) I have in the rear, with the same amount of 'unflushness' except with r888's. Rubbed pretty good. Getting over fenders though, already have the oem fenders cut pretty damn well.

What do you have in the front? My car under-steer(ed) while it was running, but that's because I only have 245's in the front.

Your thinking the ET streets bias ply. Im running the radial's out back. You can run bias out back and radial out front but be prepared for it to squirrely. It is definitely not recommended but people do it anyways

Imo, RE-11 are the next best step down from the R888. Surprised phunk didn't like 'em, as I esp thought they were better in cooler weather vs the r888. Maybe I was comparing worn R888s to new RE-11 (anyhow, RE-11 are quiet, comfortable, and only a tad less sticky than the R888 at the 500 whp level).

running 295/30/19 r888 @ 500whp on a g35, and i love them. they dead hook 1st. a good shift from 1-2 and there is a bit of wheel hop / spin but i havent really warmed them up then tried that. Best mod ive ever made. i used to run cheap tires and would just spin 1-3. r888 are the way to go for a 19" wheel.

so if you run bias in the rear what are you SUPPOSED to run in the front? It seems bias + bias would be SUPER squirrely but apparently not according to what I have seen on the Interwebs.

I did a lot of reading before going with the R888. Read want the Supra owners thought, Porsche Turbo/GT3/GT2, Viper ACR, and even a Spec Miata. And other than the wet (lack of) traction and noise the R888 gets a lot of praise. I was really tossed up but thought that since my Z, hopefully, won't be my daily anymore I'll be good with a more "track DOT" versus a "max high-performance" summer tire. Now to just stuff them in there.
