Wheels
I've been looking at new wheels for 3 weeks. I've seen every ugly wheel made! I guess I'll know when I find the right wheels for me. How long did it take for you guys to find the right set?

7 sets on my '03, second set on my Niz. Both FINAL sets (with spares for when I get bored). Laff....
Nothing wrong with any of them. Love them all. Just prefer the low weight/high strength and "less boy racer" look of my S-Tune LMZ5s.
Still have 6 of the 9 sets in the garage or on the cars and a set of Volks in the classifieds (or will be when the post is approved) and will be selling off at least two more sets.
What styles are you looking at or leaning towards?

19” wheels look good on the Z, and 17” wheels handle well.
But as dcains mentions... Go with 18” wheels. That gives you the best compromise for handling and appearance.
Enkei wheels are exceptional and have the correct offset for our Z-car. Look at the Enkei thread for excellent examples. --Spike

I have looked at Enkei. I do have Brembo's it's a huge concern with how well they'll fit. The car has 18's now and honestly I'd prefer to just keep the same size. My car isn't for the track. It's just for me.

I just embarrassed myself by going back and viewing pics of the evolution of wheels I've been through on one car. Was gonna post 'em but.... uhhhh, no. Wow, pretty pathetic my priorities be. Glad that phase is over.

Stock wheels are pretty nice, for stock wheels. If only I could talk myself into some spacers. Its hard pulling the trigger on wheels when your not in love with them. Especially if your going to be paying retail price.
I dont think ive found the right set yet so I cant answer your question. But I currently have 2 sets of factory 18s 04 and 08s both off a touring edition. I kinda want some wide *** 17s.

On my second set of wheels, kinda. Went from one set, to another , then changed that set from staggered to square.
Then I went thru a few sets of wheels on the track side of things too.

RGR's are nice wheels, and I had a set on my e30 M3 for a while. Forged and very light, and $$. Lots of cheap reps out there now, though, so they look a bit more common, unfortunately.

seems like spending a bunch of money on wheels that you absolutely are not in love with is a waste of money & time
i would figure out what you want real or reps
than what specs on paper you need, width , diameter , offset , weight
than when you have that much done , what looks good

I have run RH J8s on my Z for over 10 years. I love the wheel, but thought it was time for a change - and I love what the 370Z Nismo wheel looks like on the 350z. Have a look at that option: they're light; they're OEM & forged. Can't beat the quality.

I've had 4 (maybe 5) sets of wheels on since I've owned the car. I like'em all. Never got my FAVORITE wheel tho...but that wheel, I picked out about 5 years before I got the car lol. It's sold now, but I'll probably grab a set before the top of the year and save'em for my next project. I've only gone 18's. I didn't know 17inch MB Battles would fit until about 2 weeks ago (brembos). So, I'll probably grab a set of those too.

I looked at BBS, limited distribution. TC109s are slick. Not a Ray's fan for those prices. I pulled the trigger on Enkei RPF1s. 18x9.5 and 18x10.5, +12 all around. The fronts weigh 16.2 pounds, so at roughly $1300 for a brand new set, they were the best choice for me. Bridgestone 760s are sticky enough for my needs.
