Oh yeah, and I get the biggest thrill out of letting you know I own a Z and I'm 18 [SARCASM]. I don't come on here to impress anyone. I come on here to talk about a car we all own, or in my case just drive... Grow up.
You were doing fine until your last sentence. I'm quite grown up. You asked for my opinion, and I gave it to you. You are a teenager who started a thread about people hating on teenagers, and I'll guarantee beyond a doubt that you were just waiting for someone to ask you how old you were so you could throw your big "18" out there....it's "subliminal bragging", and you didn't even have to wait until page 2 to do it. If you didn't want people taking note of your age, you wouldn't have started this thread.

maybe its because i havent been in forums for very long. but i really dont see the hidden quote of "LOOK AT ME!!!! I'M 18 AND HAVE A Z AND I WANT TO TELL EVERYONE HOW YOUNG I AM AND HAVE A SPORTS CAR" i started my forum career saying Im 18 and i just bought the Z and blablabla.. because i was asking some pretty simply questions.. retarded questions.. but i was clueless about cars.. maybe putting im 18 there will cause less humiliation.. no intention of bragging about owning a Z at all.. on the other hand.. posting on forums.. dont you want to introduce yourself somewhat? and dont the usual introduction in life goes by, my name is bla bla and i am this many years old.. i .....

on the bright side.. ALMOST OUT OF THIS FREAKIN INSURANCE POOL!!!!

You bring up a valid point. Mentioning your age simply to validate that "I don't know alot about cars yet because I've only been driving for a year or two" is totally cool, but that's the exception to the rule, I assure you. And yes, leaving the insurance category you're in is quite nice.

I can't really prove to you that I had no intention of making thread to brag about owning a Z at 18. But past me saying that I didn't and I made this thread seeking a reason behind the hatred ya'll show towards me and others, is all I can do. I couldn't care less if you never show me respect on here because I didn't buy the Z on my own. But what I ask you don't do, is say that I am bragging about having one and being 18. I'm not a boastful person, even when I first got it, I didn't go around telling everyone I got a Z. If someone saw that I was driving it, I would simply talk to them about it. Nothing along the lines of "Hey man! Look what I just got! Its crazy fast! Bet I could beat you in a race".

I think I understand what you are trying to say m0nkie. But don't get carried away. Please read the book I suggested. IMHO, what you know and what people know of you is more important than what you drive. That grandfatherly Asian guy driving a Dodge may be the most successful business person at the party!

Please don't misunderstand anything I've said as hatred. Having been around the forum for a few years, I (and all the other long time forum go-ers) have seen some real characters. If your intentions are really curiousity about the whole age thing, then my apologies to you. You just need to understand that you're following on the heels of MANY (and I do mean MANY) "punks" who want everyone on the planet to know that they're barely old enough to shave and have a 350Z. And again, I don't care if they're a teenager and have a Z, it's the fact that they practically "expect" me to be jealous because of their age relative to mine. It's a shallow mind-set that displays just how little they know of the world and the people around them. This forum is a community and you get respected for what you contribute, not who you are, how old you are, or your "status" in your own little corner of the world. Some folks here aren't mature enough to grasp that concept. You obviously are.....So....all that aside, where in VA are you, and will I meet you this summer at a Z meet? If so, drinks are on me...(I'm partial to Coke myself )

Yeah, I was planning on going to go to one of the Z meets in Richmond. I live in Southside VA, southern tip of Dinwiddie County. Roughly 45 min from Richmond. I'm a Coke kinda guy too.

You gotta meet up with PumpedVA down there in Richmond. He has probably the most modified Z in southern VA. That thing will blow your mind. I'm up north, so if you ever get up this way, let me know.

Are you closer to the D.C. area? If so, I might sometime over summer visit my sister up there. If I do, I'll let you know I'm in the area.

There are plenty of stupid people who own a Z or G, if you need a list of them PM me.

Yeah, no $hit, it's called life. Get used to it, there's a lot more to come.

Yep, I'm right up near DC, actually out near Dulles Airport. Let me know, we'll do lunch!

1. A lot of parents buy their kids cars. Some can afford nicer ones, others cannot. As a teenager, I didn't care, as long as I could drive, everything was a-otay.

2. Power to you if you've purchased your own vehicle. That's respectable. It's even harder to do when you're concurrently studying and working. I know I couldn't pull that off.

3. Back when I was 16, I was a horrible, aggressive, and reckless driver. Too much testosterone, I wanted to race all of my friends, their grandmothers, and their pet hamsters, too. So I guess I didn't help things by contributing to the stereotype of bad teenage drivers. I WAS one. And I was probably hated. But some of my friends (back in high school), man, they could REALLY drive.

4. I'm 33 now, no kids yet, but when they arrive and become of driving age, maybe I'll buy them a vehicle, too, if I can swing that between all the other stuff I'll be paying for. Seeing how many mangled, intubated, hemorrhaging kids come through the ER, though, I'm thinking I want to buy them an M1 Abrams.

"wow that restaurant got lots of Benz.. must be good since rich people go there" and believe me.. eating in restaurant is not a cheap thing in China.. a nice fancy dinner will cost somewhere btw 1500-5000$ where average people's monthly income is 500$

I wish I had z at the age of 18. that would have been really cool. course I don't suppose it would have done me much good at the time because I was in iraq, but hopefully now that when I get back from afghanistan I'll be able to use my deployment money (tax free income and hostile fire pay) to be able to buy one when I get back. my parents never gave me a dime towards any of the "toys" that I enjoy now, and my kids can expect much of the same thing.

I had a job at the age of 14 and if my kids want to earn money to buy nice things they will do likewise. I've shead blood, sweat and tears for the money to buy everything that I have now.

I don't hate anyone because of the car they drive however, I try not to read a book by it's cover. a friend of mine was killed back home while i've been over here by guys from my highschool who were drag racing honda's. it doesn't matter what you drive so long as you are honestly responsible with it.
