I ran my tank down yesterday and for the first time, The little warning light came on. I topped the tank off until it wouldn't take a drop more and it ended up taking 16.2 gallons. If the "Z" really does have a 20 gallon tank, that leaves just shy of 4 gallons for reserve.. Has anyone put more than 16.2 gallons in there tank yet??

i can typically get 18 gallons (or close to that) when i fill up my tank. the light comes on when there are about 35 or 37 miles left (year right....that's what the thing claims....but there are at least 2 gallons left when that thing starts blinking and claims you have no gas left! haha)

My light didn't blink.. It just came on solid.. If I had run the tank lower, would it have started blinking?? If so, I'll know for next time..

the light stays solid. but, the DTE will blink. it will show you how many miles are left in the tank....when it gets to )....a dotted line will flash. that's what i meant....sorry for the confusion.

u can go a long way before you need to refill again. the light came on for me and i drove a long time before i had to refill. i only registered 17 gallons when i refilled and i had around 40 miles left?

 

yeah, after the light was blinking (where the read out for miles in the tank is)....i drove maybe 15 or more miles. and i still only filled up a little over 18 gallons. i would guess they do this so some idiot doesn't say "well, the guage said i had 2 miles left" or "well, it just hit 0".......cause you know there are idiots out there that do that. me, i knew there would be a large amount of gas left in the reserve to be ok.

 

hey steve i actully ran out of gas last year and put over 19.5 gallons in the car.
so when the light comes on and your millage counter runs out you generally have another 3 + gallons to go

Hi Tom, Nice to see your still alive & kickin after this brutal winter.. I won't ask how you ran out of gass with all the aid's in the car but you can tell me in private.. Now that the snow is melting.. It's time to plan another get together like the one in November.. Lets pick a date and see if we can get the ball rollin..
