Sounds good to me. The pho place is less than 10 minutes from me.

Call for an insurance quote on the bike. I think you'll be shocked, not in a good way.

If he could afford a Z working at Best Buy making $8K/year after taxes assuming he stays working full time just imagine what he could buy if he worked at a real job. $40K/ year is 5 times what he makes now. He should be able to afford a car 5 times more expensive than a Z when he gets decent job.

$40K/year = $150K car

Everyone making $40K a year should be driving around in Astons, F360s, GT2s, and SL65s. I'm all for it.
I see your point. I didn't think of it like that. Yes my parents bought my car for me, glad it doesn't bother you like some people. I'm just on a free ride untill I go into the real world, but hey who wouldn't take the advantage of a free ride if they could?

There are plenty of college graduates driving around in 10 year old Honda Accords. If any of this story is true then I bet the only reason your parents made that deal was because they knew you couldn't do it. You're a kid working in a candy store. Every check you get is going back to Best Buy for games, TVs, CDs, DVDs, computers, and so on. This thread was retarded from the beginning. If your parents want to buy you a Z then ask them nicely and they might. I don't care if you get a free one. Thinking that you could pay for one working at Best Buy is insane. What are you going to do when your school load gets tougher and you can't work full time?

EDIT: One more piece of info for the OP, there are plenty of doctors, lawyers, engineers, and business owners on this site that drive Z's.
Um ok, I never said I'm paying for the car all by myself, did I? I'm paying for most it. My parents are going to help with but obviously I'm going to try and make it so they don't help me too much. Some months they'll probably pay a little more than another, but most of it is going to come from me.

If I become a doctor, lawyer, or whatever, there is no way I'd be driving a 350z if my salary if six figure a year or close to. Hence why the 350z is an affordable sports car.

Like I said before, I hope your parents do get you one. I really do. It's a nice car. Just don't think that working at Best Buy is ever going to afford you that car. Your Best Buy money is barely enough to cover gas and going out with your friends. Your parents would have to pay 100% of your car and your insurance and any maintenance. I'm not one of those guys that think you should have to work hard for years on end to get something like this. As a matter of fact, I try to do as little as possible to make my living. Getting any car for free pretty much kicks a$$. It's not that anyone here doesn't want you to get the car, we just don't want you to fool yourself into thinking it'll work out the way you thought. You're going to wake up to a real bad situation if you go through with your plan. As far as you becoming a doctor, lawyer or whatever and not wanting a Z, ask some of the doctors, lawyers, engineers, nuclear physicists, and business owners here why they chose a Z.

I'll echo everyone else... A Z or a bike right now is a bad idea. Even if your parents were paying for all of the Z, maintenance, insurance, gas, everything... A fairly lightweight powerful RWD is a horrible car to learn to drive on. Get something with...
A) less power
B) FWD or AWD

If you haven't had any accidents for a year, go ahead and get a Z.
As for a bike... You WILL lay it down. Everyone does. I have no idea what traffic in Calis like, but I've heard it's horrible. That being said, it's not so much your riding skills you have to keep in check, but every other driver on the road. Good luck with all those idiots.

I only read the first page, but I'd have to say there's no way you're going to be able to afford the Z by working at best buy. You'll definitely have to sell it if you ever move out of your parents house or go to college, etc.

Just being realistic here.

Buy the Z and enjoy. Clearly you don't seem to understand or want to understand how the real world works. There are plenty of doctors and lawyer that don't make 6 figure salaries. They don't just hand over a 6 figure job over to every law school grad going out the door. And judging by your inability to comprehend, I wouldn't keep my hopes up.

So serious, Buy the Z. Enjoy while you can. And close thread.

So what if you have buy a brand new Z. You'll have a Z. Sure you will look good taking out that cute girl in class out to dinner..... at McDonald's, unless she pays.
You'll have a nice Z, but everything else you do will be revolved around you car. So maybe you'll only want to do free stuff like playing sports. What if you wanted to go to the movies, go to sporting events, paintballing, snowboarding, to the tracks? You know, other fun stuff that costs money. You'll have say NO to those things more often than yes.

Maybe you'll be able to enjoy it during your commutes. With Cali traffic, it is hard to enjoy a powerful sports car in stop and go 5 mph traffic. So what is the point of having a powerful sports car when you can use it the way you want to? Might as well commute around in a Corolla right? Sometimes I second guess my purchase of a Z because of this.

Personally if I had to do it all over again, I probably would have bought used rather than new so I would save the extra cash. Once you drive it off the lot, it is basically used anyway. Plus, it doesn't seem like you really want the Z because you say there are other better cars out there. So if I were you, I would buy something more affordable, still fun to drive, use the left over money to mod, take your friends out, do more fun stuff, and in the future go buy that "nicer car" you speak of.

I'd say get the Z if you want to live in your parents basement for the next 6 years while you are paying it off.

Ultimately, from the sounds of it, your parents will intervene with good advice, well we can hope for your sake anyway. Life is but a learning process, we've all been there.

Funnily enough all the 350 drivers I know in New Zealand are all high earning professionals. But then NZ is a world away from US.
Good luck Aren with whatever you end up doing.
