With a dent, I'd be wondering how you expect a shop to fix it (aside from painting and bondo).

You would be foolish to settle for $150. Did ya notice how quick CarbonLTD jumped at the chance?

what a whiner (OP). waaa..i dont have my hood & its been 20 days! waaaa! its all Jims fault. damn you Jim for using his hood as a table when you could just ship it out to him!

i think some people expect waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. Jim is not your personal shop. im sure he bogged down w/ an actual life on top of making whine baby customers like you happy. id HATE to be a vendor. you never know what kind of impatient whiners youre going to deal with.

The area in the center of the hood is really weak and thats why its dented in... If you cut open the bottom of the hood and fill/strenghten that area it will look good.... The guy who owns the body shop has actually done stuff like this before and works on top end stuff... Mind you I actually gave Jim this option a month ago...

Hey its either that, or send the defective hood away and wait another 3 months for a new one or possibly never get a hood at all...

I want 20 minutes of my life back for reading this thread and having a resolution that took 4 or 5 posts.

I'm having serious doubts about selling anything online

I think you did the right thing. You could take the 150 bucks and sell the hood for 150 less and still come out the same...then buy a better hood in person

Dude, OP, don't do this. Ever considered that he could have been just taking the time to wait until something like this happened?

Don't give in. You deserve a new undamaged hood.

I don't think I will ever buy anything from these guys, how quickly he jumped to this decision IMO speaks on how he likes to "take care" of business.

In the end the OP is at least getting something even though it was not his first choice. He made the right decision...who knows when the other hood would've come in anyhow. This thread should be closed as soon as the money is sent
