Ok, I am getting pissed off, I seem to only get about 260 miles per tank on my Z, I shift at 2 or 3 thousand RPM, what the hell is going on? my friends vette gets better milage then me, should i take it in?

ill try it tomarrow, But on the little screen it says im getting 19 and 22 on the highway

 

Ever since I resetted the fuel gauge while coasting it downhill doing around 60mph, Ive been getting between 16-19mpg. I also reset it when I fill the tank up. You also don't wanna sit in traffic for a long time. That's when the mpg goes way down. I sat in traffic for an hour seeing the mpg go from 19mpg to 13.7mpg one time.

 

The newer vettes get beter gas mileage than 350Z's anyways (unless they get on it alot), so don't worry about that part. In 6th gear with my Z at 70 mph, I'm only pulling about 1800-1900 rpm. My 350 could never do that.

With my 350Z, I was averaging about 20-22 mpg (mix of city/highway driving every day to work).

 

Then why do you think yu are getting 13 MPG?

How much fuel to refill your tank at empty? If you haven't had the tsb service done, then most likely you are only refilling 15 gallons or so. That works out to 17-18mpg.

What type of driving do you do (city/highway)?

 

i get about 14 mpg in city driving. I'm stopped a lot and when i accelerate, I do it "briskly". Any time i'm on the highway it goes up to about 25 though.

i reset my mpg and drove on the freeway for an hour and got like 30mpg...then drove in the city for few hundred miles and now im at 17mpg
