+1; I too have issues with "Internet tough guy's." Moreover, I believe that the basic reason between the rev-up motors vs the non-rev-up motors is the torgue, which was mentioned on a previous thread.

yep! I back u up on that.
so is 300 hp soooo much more expensive that older A owners can't afford it?
a base and a fully loaded touring or track, than there is a difference. and who cares. I talked to some old white man who paid 8000 mark up when it first came out. I paid a grip 2, but we drove the car way longer.
hp=top speed and torque=acceleration, hello. after u mod the car is not like that little number difference will matter much.

I think it has far less to do with either motor but more a question of weight. My 03 track feels much faster through first two gears but third and fourth feel much faster in the 06 even weighing an extra 300 to 400 lbs, but mod either one even slightly and things may be different. Be safe and enjoy your Z regardless of engine because their really isn't that much difference. If this thread is this long, I can't wait til 09 and the next revision shows up. I can se it already. The 07 and 08 models are just as fast as the 09. Heck its already started, with comparisons to G37. Give it a rest. Carry on

Unless at a track, racing, chirping thru gears is not good for the car.

yeah, try racing someone and chirp while taking off n get ur a.s kicked.
Don't some of you know burning out= no grip. Adaaa---
If you chirp then I'll give you a trophy... I can do that with my tacoma off road.. Get some new/better tires or bigger rims... stop chirping like a retard then spend big $ to get new tires.

Not just talk...But my 07 will really get it in 2nd, and the other day while going UPHILL merging onto the interstate, I chirped it in 3rd. Shocked me because it hadn't done it before. If the difference you notice is mostly breaking the tires loose, I wonder if it has something to do with an update suspension, or more weight...lots of variables really.

jesus the only advantage , of the revups are the power band being higher and extra rpms for track use. For 1/4 i have had both cars and my 287 was def more of a trqy response. I have always said that stock for stock on a highway run the revup will outshine a 287 stock for stock top end. And proved it in the beginning everytime a stock 287 raced. Me granted 1/4 i wuold picka 287 any day they make more tq. But More hp will get you the win on a top end run. Just like i get surpassed by the new HRs. And actaully revup numbers in SAE format are 293 not 300 by the old standards.

In a road race i would def prefer the revup just like making power higher in the band and keeping it higher then the 287.
They also dyno higher more consitantly but also have alot less tq aswell

my 04.5 Z 238rwhp dyno jet
my 06 revup first motor not V2 251 rwhp dynojet

That isn't a Z or G so what are you driving? And tires spinning when shifting is nothing, you could have cheap tires, or too much psi in them and that can easily make them squeal between shifts.

In a road race, or drag strip, I prefer the vehicles on top.
