Well I agree that it is already occuring to some degree. The demographic of owners has shifted quite a bit since the early 2002 to 2004 days. However, I think it will have to level off.

I've seen a silver Z with using duct tape cut out on the headlights as overlays...yes, riced out Z's are inevitable...

It might level off if they do stop production after 2008 as is rumoured, as long as hoons keep crashing them there will be less and less, thus lowering the amount that are rice-able.

I hope.

The 350Z will be the NEW rice car!-parking-lot-029.jpg Obviously I have Lambo doors, but no tape on head lights. It's rice if you say so. But I say if do mods the wright way then its o.k.

Sigh... It's true... Civic owners are picking up used s2000's for nearly the same price. I've seen them go in decent mileage/condition for a measely $14k.

i don't think it will be the Honda Civic of the 21st century but it will be more affordable and accessible.

A lower price point does not necessarily mean it will become a ''ricer'' car. Setting aside the fact that "ricer" is a poorly, and widely overused term, not all people with lower incomes have poor taste, and conversely the same is true. Not all people with money to spend, do so in a way that most will think is tasteful.

Saying that because the average price of a Z is coming down will cause it to be the new "RICE" car is a blanket statement that I do not agree with.

Get off your high horse. It's all personal taste, and if it's not your car, what difference does it make. Just let it be.

very true... RICE is the result of poor taste, not necessarily poor enthusiasts...

This is what they said when FnF Tokyo Drift came out. Chill. Every car has their share of a ricer population. It happens. Just don't do it yourself.
