Now i've got a "think twice" deficit on my head anytime someone plans to buy anything, which is ********, because i'm nothing but an honest buyer/seller.

YOU were the first to respond to him upon his initial reaction to the exhaust. His first discovery was at the end of Page 1, yours was the NEXT reply on page 2. For this thread only THREE replies came before yours, NONE saying $hit about your rep. YOU could have resolved this prior TO LOSING REP and being bashed. That's a FACT. Stop using the excuse.

Hey Mark, he is saying that your car was missing a hanger but that exhaust looks like it doesn't even have the post that is supposed to be comming out of the passenger side of the muffler. What kind of shop doesn't tell you that your car is missing the proper equipment to do an install, kayfuNK and his buddies shop seem like they were the ones in a rush. Now you want to pay him $350 but this exhaust is worthless, do you think anyone is going to give Mark any money if he ever wants to sell that wothless crap.

I think there is also a way to make a complaint against the shop, mechanics have something like the BBB that you make complaints to. The shop name should also be posted so that they don't install broken parts on any other cars.

Your Way: You pay $350 more
His way: You do **** but get your exhaust back and kramy pays everything to make it straight (shipping, etc.)
Now if you don't have the money, you could maybe work something out with kramy. Do you not want to go his way because you know you won't be able to resell it for $700?
K, I've read as much as I can read of all this BS, so I've got some questions.
1. Kayfunk, how long were you riding around w/ that flange all screwed up like that? I'm guessing with that much damage to the flange the exhaust note of your car would have changed. If so, didn't you wanna know what caused it? I know I would have. In fact if one day my ehaust sounded like when I first installed it, then woke up and found my exhaust sounded completely different I would have gone immediately to find out why.
2. It doesn't seem like your car is that low, so I don't see how you should have scrapped the exhaust cannister. Not familiar w/ the JIC cannister, but I'm assuming it's not much bigger than the stock one. I just don't think Nissan would have designed their car's exhaust to scrape over speed bumps. So where did the damage come from?
The reason I ask is because, even without visual inspection, I'd like to think that a member of this forum is knowledgeable enough to know that something is wrong just from the change in exhaust note that broken flange would have made.
Now for the buyer,
1. Why wouldn't you inspect or at least ask to see the product before it was put on your car. As an example, when I go have tires mounted I may not go into the shop but I at least stand in front of the bay where my car is being worked on. From there you should have at least seen the shody work that was being done to your $30K car.
2. Why were you in such a rush to complete this transaction. If I were gonna drive that far to save on shipping I would have at least asked to see pics of the exhaust. Lesson learned, sucks to find out the hard way.
As for solution. Just give a refund, It seems like you'd get your exhaust back before the money is released by paypal. So you're not at a loss either way. Then go your seperate ways. Kayfunk, seems like your reputation will be shot regardless and you probably won't be able to sell your exhaust even if you fixed what you call cosmetic damages. Since you didn't need that $700 for your HKS then you would just end up w/ a JIC paper weight.
