do not purchase from kayfunk

Not look like it just got picked up out of a scrap metal yard and bolted to my car. And as i stated above in earlier post, i have to ship the item back to him to get my refund. So he is getting his jacked up item back he can try to pawn off on someone else. And what differnce does it make whether i looked at it or not while at the shop, what if it had been sent to me like that in the mail??? Then what, it would be different? I think not.
Guilt has been established here.. and its not just him that is guilty.. when you admit that you are guilty too, then maybe you guys can work this out.
If you had looked at it in the shop.. you would not be in the position you are now. "Caveat emptor"
The transaction prolly' would have been different by mail, but that is conjecture. Your in the situation you are now. You can either make another 20 pages or ask the mods to close this down, and work with kayfuNk to actually resolve the issue.

Second, closing the thread and doing PM would do nothing for the resolution, how you think at this point it can be resolved is beyond me.
Sure, maybe he shouldn't have started a thread without talking to him first, but Kayfunk did have the opportunity to respond basically first in both thread's. On one of my replies you will see where I compare this scenario to a restaurant with a customer who finds a rat in their food. If the chef forgot to check the dish and missed the rat and the customer decided to start eating the plate before finding the rat is it the customer's fault!? Should the chef say, hey sorry, but since I forgot to check you should have?. It is obvious a restaurant would never make the guy pay for the meal and would do their best to please the customer, but either way, he is gonna make a scene at the restaurant in front of everyone and bash the restaurant to friends and whoever he can after that day. That's the same thing the buyer did on here, he did nothing wrong and it is obvious that had Kay's first response been to argue his point BUT end it saying he will happily accept the exhaust back and refund him then this thread would have been shorter and he would still have the respect and rep he said he lost (keep in mind he basically called 90% of the forum member's dolts....).
You completely miss the fact that KAY should have NEVER EVER put his exhaust up for sale period until it was off. The excuse of him being rushed, etc. etc. does not mean he is right and the buyer is wrong. He said he didn't need the $700 for the new exhaust so that means he easily could ahve waited for the new one to come, get the old off, THEN post it for sale and take the pics and state the condition. Do not forget HE had the opportunity to inspect the exhaust as well. That's like a car dealership taking a new car from the factory and not inspecting it and then selling it to a buyer. Who is wrong there? Is the dealership going to tell the customer, "sorry, but you should have fully inspected it first even though we didn't, your loss, good luck"??
There was a statement made that he did get a text from the buyer and he told the buyer he was at work and could not talk until he got off that night at 11pm (eastern). Look at the time of ALL his posts, he had TIME to post and respond like crazy on here, but couldn't call and talk to him instead? Hence the threads made.
Again, no one is arguing the buyer should have checked, but to say the buyer should just accept what is "offered" is ridiculous and if you really assume he would have refunded the buyer if he just didn't post on here and "ruin his rep" is silly. I am under my own opinion that the buyer would NEVER have seen the full amount.

Wow worse thread ever! GL Kramy. This sistuation totally blows, and the fact that Paypal denied it is garbage. It's funny how paypal is quick to charge their fee's but can't help their loyal customers out. Also, the fact that kaypunk states he did not look at the exhaust before posting it for sale is crap. I recently sold an Injen SES exhaust here and I looked at it from the cat back to make sure it did not have any scrapes or damages. I even posted pics of everything. Plus, the guy I sold it to drove 30 miles to my friends house, where I took it off in front of him and had him inspect it before he handed me the cash. If thats not good customer service I dont know what is. If that body shop wanted to be cool, they could of let you in the back for half a minute just to get a quick overview of the install. Trust me, I was getting my wheels balanced one time and they let me back there just cause I wanted to look at the calipers to see what condition they were in. Obviously this dude knew someone at that shop.

I inspect all of the cars I purchase before I sign ANYTHING. Any defect is noted / addressed PRIOR to sale... why? To avoid a situation that we are debating now.
Ugh, .. so that means that he was on here defending himself first before he texted/called back?
The buyer has no foot to stand on with his CC.. so he should take what he can get. I'm only trying to suggest some sort of solution. In reality, its up to both of these guys to accept that they were both at fault in this transaction and start to work with each other. Until that happens we are going to see them both ethugging each other and this thread will keep growing.

2) You're kidding right? So the possibility of missing something could never happen right? Lemon law...I wonder what that was created for.
3) sigh....I thought YOU read the whole thread....nevermind.
4) Unless you know for a fact he has no stand with the cc it's all really assuming. We all basically are actually with our own opinions. However, my main point was what really makes you think taking this thread off will make ANY change for either party? What good does it do for the buyer? He will still only get what Kay is offering, if you really think Kay will offer the full refund if the thread is closed then you're kidding yourself. So either way, thread down, thread up, buyer still gets the same thing from kay, so why should he want this thread down?
To say the buyer deserves what he got because he did not check the item is just plain silly and would never work as an excuse if it was with any respectable shop.

here, you can practice the skill too. Unless I read this wrong, it looks like his cc is helping.....guess he has a "stand"

Make him do a little driving as well. If he doesn't want to pick it up, it can be shipped back to you. You will have a shipment number as well to give to paypal. Greyhound is our answer.
Hey everyone. This is Anthony. I co-own the shop. Im not here to bash anyone that doesnt bash me 1st. And do not bash me b/c the words out of mouth are the truth. Believe what u want. I have been a mechanic for 5 years now. I prob know more than most of you on this site.
I will tell the story first.
Kris came to the shop at opening 8am. I took his exhaust off immediately and his dad picked him up to go get his HKS. He arrived back at the shop in 2 hrs. About 10 now and I am installing Kris' exhaust. He was on the phone a lot talking to Mark giving him directions and offered to meet up with mark so Mark could follow Kris to the shop.
I pull Marks car in the shop and start removing the exhaust. I take the muffler and axle back off and Mark walks by to the bathroom and I ask him if he's keeping his Y pipe. He said yes. So now I mount the JIC exhaust. Everything mounts up nicely. But I notice the exhaust slides down MARK's OEM driver side exhaust mount. I took a good look at it and then tightened down all the bolts. I go back and check on the exhaust hanger. I vibrate it quite hard to make sure that it will not let go under the most treacherous conditions. It passed the test. But to be sure i used a high grade metal wire to secure it for the JUST IN CASE possibility of it slipping off. I know it wouldn't have due to the axle back pipe would go it nice and tight in place. At this time Mark has been walking around the shop mainly on the phone. Kris was around the area too walking in and out. Kris did speak to Mark quite a bit. What about? I have no idea. I was inside the shop and they were out back watching. Kris had to be at work at 2pm and left around 1:30. Later than he should have b/c he was trying to be courteous. Now I have started the car a few times and raising it back up checking for leaks. It kept leaking from Y-pipe-axle back pipe. I kept changing gaskets but they were all crushed or hollowed out from the first install on Marks car. (they were incorrect gaskets). Mark had been in the shop since he 1st heard the car start up the 1st time. I've left it running for about 5 min each time. Also, NOT ONCE did mark take a look at the exhaust. Did he ask you might wonder? No. I would have been more than happy to show him anything he wanted. I told him my situation. I confronted mark and Will was right next to him and told Mark, "i cannot get it to stop leaking. Ive tried every gasket but they are all garbage. I got the noise level down with a gasket I found" He said "thats fine i will just get the muffler shop to change it when i get back to Mississippi" I said ok, and brought the car down off the lift. I drove it around the front of the building and parked it. Will had already been at the shop for about 30min or so. So he was up next.
I pulled Will's car in and I always confronted each person about each problem I encountered. I said I cant take your car up it is too low i will have to roll the car onto some blocks to get it high enough. The car is up in the air and I start removing the full exhaust. WIll and Mark are right behind the car watching. (a side note for all 3 jobs, there was no time delay when they got to the shop. They pulled in, the cars were red hot and I still worked on them. Not once did I complain) I set...SET Will's exhaust gently on the ground at their feet. Will hands me his OEM Y pipe. I mount it to his cats and start mounting the rest of the exhaust....The Axle back pipe DOES NOT fit his OEM pipe. I had to spend about 30 min modifying it to fit. I told him my situation and he understood. Finally i got it to mount perfectly. I tq down all the bolts and I notice the exhaust is pressing down on that center brace. I brought him underneath the car showing him that there was nothing i could do. The OEM Y pipe was too flexible and laying on that cross bar. I pushed on the exhaust fairly hard and it would not budge. He said he was fine with it b/c I guranteed that it wouldnt rattle unless he hit a pretty large bump. I drove it around front and tested it on a good size bump. No rattles what so ever. Bother were happy with the install and left.
---------------------------------------------
end story. Now, personal thoughts on Mark
Mark was being an outkast. Not asking any questions, not walking to the shop , not looking at the exhaust, barely speaking to me.
Now you guys are thinking/saying "Well, Kris told him not to go in the shop." That statement is False. Kris would not say anything like that and he did "business" with another 350z member that came to my shop and Kris brought him directly into the back of the shop where Kris' OEM wheels were at.
-------------------------------------
Personal Thoughts on Will:
Pretty cool guy (at first). Was very out going and talking about this and that. He first showed up and met Mark. They walked into the office together where my father was at. One of them (dunnow which) asked if they could come inside the shop. My father (i over heard) said "Heck yea, go right in" My father is always that type of person. We have nothing to hide. So why would Kris tell Mark to not come in the back?¿ B/C he didn't. Now Will, i see u been talking big game on an intranet site. lol. You know where I work and You know Kris is my roommate...why not just settle it face to face instead of calling him names on this site? I can vouch for Kris being a stand up guy in MANY situations.
--------------------------------------------------
Now the rest of you:
I havent read everything cus...my head would explode if I did. You say Kris was a scammer....How? Did he say the exhaust was perfect? did he say it was tip top? I dont believe so. It was a used exhaust in good condition. Mark wanted to say the damage was due to Kris' accident (i also fixed Kris' car during that time too). How could you make such an idiotic statement like that? He was hit in the fender....I wasnt flown on top of a guard rail. Kris offered 300...THREE HUNDRED dollars to fix a 50 dollar part...are you kidding me? How can you guys be sooo blind? he should have been so lucky. Any other person would have just said "*** you" and left it at that. Mark has his opportunity to reclaim what could have been his. He ***'d up. Not Kris.

Specifically to fat f'ing bìtch! you know who the *** im talking about!
So, your going to run ur fat trap about me on another site?? B/c ur a fuking moron? B/c you cant understand what people are saying about cars b/c ur mind moves too slow until there is a cheeseburger in front of you. Never once did I say my 2005 Mustang that is shaped like a brick has more aerodynamics than a 350z. Your an idiot for thinking that. I even proved u wrong in that thread and what happened after that? you shut your mouth and never spoke again. Good. We should all be so grateful. I have more knowledge about cars in my big toe than you do in your thick *** skull. Dont test me b*tch. ~end rant~
---------------------------------------
If you feel the need to bash me b/c you are afraid of the truth and cant handle then go right ahead. I will not get my feelings hurt b/c you are too ignorant to see through all the bullsh*t and nutswingers. Be the stand up person you are and not realize what is right in front of you. Mark has buyers remorse. PLAIN and SIMPLE!
O yea, one last note..... Kris handed me 50 bucks saying "this is for my exhaust". I figured it was for the exhaust i hung for him. No. it was for Mark. He was paying for Marks install. I did not know that was supposed to be like that. Mark knew....I didnt. When I asked for Mark to pay 50...FIFTY dollars for a $100+ job, he did it with ease. He should have manned up and said "hey, Kris said he was paying" "o rly? Lemme call him and verify that". But no! He didnt. He paid the 50 and didnt complain once. HIS fault, not Kris' not mine.
If you really feel the need to express yourself in a civilized way and want to take in the truth than u can PM me of IM me and we can discuss this like adults. Mark, fess up, you are just not happy with it and now your mad at yourself. Be an adult and admit when you are wrong. It's part of growing up.
