Default Change in Driving Habbits.

I am really close to ordering my 04 SB Performance. Just the other day I was thinking that I should probably change my driving habbits when I get a Z because, although being extra careful, I like to drive fast. I am currently driving an Accord 93. To make a long story short I just got a speeding ticket, pretty big one too. Did anyone else had to change there driving habbits when switching to the Z? It's hard for me to keep myself from speeding in the car that hardly has 120 HP, image what I will have to go through when I will have 287 of them .

I've become even more aggressive and lead-footed.

Hey, the best way to change lanes in LA traffic is to speed up and get in front of the car next to you, not slow down to get behind him!

Now that would be fun... trying to get a ticket.

Imagine having that kinda job... maybe as a IA officer making sure the cops are doing their job. Out driving around hoping to get a ticket and then telling the cop he did a good job! Imagine the look on his face.

oops last week... Sept.... I wish it was Oct.... (October is the pay by this date).....

2 tickets when I have JAMMER.... Hmmmm they dont have to show you the radar gun to say you were speeding...

My first ticket was great... doing 110 easy... no gun used by the cop, gave me a ticket for 89, so I could take Defensive driving... I guess the class doesn't work....

Cop checked out my Z while I checked out the Brand New BMW Moto used to catch me...

I sometimes average 100mph on the freeway over 2 or 3 mintues. The reason being is, when there gets to be too many cars up ahead I have to slow down. 8-D

As long as you're careful, speeding isn't the problem. Other drivers who are dumb, distracted, and who don't know the rules, are our biggest problem. Like Iris said, speeding up is better, because if you ever get in an accident, it will most likely be from someone driving too closely hitting you from behind.

Scan the road, always looking for cops, and always drive as if one might be around the next turn. To get a ticket, they have to see you before you see them!

That's easier said than done, of course. I've had 3 speeding tickets, and been pulled over 3 other times without getting a ticket. But I've *never* gotton a ticket while looking for cops, no matter how fast I drive, so I still think it's a good idea.

Oh yeah, and I think I'm safer in my Z because it responds better. That helps avoid accidents!

When I was younger and dumber, I used to drive speeds almost inversely proportional to the performance of the vehicle. For instance, I had a 86 S10 Blazer with a crappy 2.8 V6 for a few months, and I always was going 90 mph it seemed. On the other hand, I had a Vette and a 911 around that same time that I generally just cruised in on the interstate, staying within 10 mph of the speed limit most of the time (with bursts of speed, but not constant speed like in the slow Blazer).

I don't know why I always felt it necessary to push the slow vehicles, but that is just the way it was.

I usually get tickets now about every 2 years, although in the last little bit, I'm over my limit. I have none on my record, though, due to court and schools.
