Hello everyone, I'm looking at buying this 2006 350z with 29,000 miles on it and when my buddy took it for a test drive (he has a Z so i wanted him to do it) he said that the clutch feels Way TO smooth as well as the gear box ( is that a problem?) also he said there seems to be a noise kind of like tire noise from the pavement but a lot louderish coming from under the hood.. not sure what it could be.. but any feedback would be appreciated.. do you think i could get the dealership to bring it to nissan for a check? any info would be appreciated! thanks!

I know often times when there is a problem with the transmission, or it has really notchy shifting, there are certain treatment oils you can throw in. They make the car shift like absolute butter, but the bad part is it just covers up the real problem. Make sure there is nothing wrong with the synchros or trans in general.

Like Chuck Norris smooth or MacGyver smooth? If the front tires r cupping it will make a noise up front. It good also be a hub bearing going bad up front as you go faster the noise gets louder.

Please.... too smooth, and weird noises? Something more specific would be helpfull. Just take the car to a mechanic who knows his **** from his elbow, then decide..

Im hes buddy
RE: Clutch, he did not describe it properly, by smooth he meant wayy to soft, as if your pressing the gas pedal, maybe alittle bit stiffer then the gas pedal. I know on my 07 its rock hard and takes quite some pressure to compress it fully. As i have installed a new tranny 1k miles ago i know how brand new tranny shifts like, its like clock work, however; hes tranny seemed to shift soooo smooth from gear to gear with out any sort of pressure again (well alittle bit of pressure but just this is just for comparison)
RE: Noise from front; it seems like just loud humming coming from the car as soon as you hit 30KM/H NOT Miles, very weired i have suggested it could be tires but they looked fine...ish, however; could it be that they are inflated too much? they were rock hard when i felt them.
Anywho hopefuly this clears up some of the questions and we can get to the bottom of this dilemma
Hopefully ull join the club chris
