Call me crazy, but I didn't buy my 370 to be a "cost effective tuner car". I consider it a sports car. To give the Mustang its props, it is a good car with a lot of history. But, if I wanted a Mustang, I would have bought it.
Comparing cars with 5 years difference between them is pretty ridiculous, don't you think?
Hey. My 370 blows the doors off of a 1980 Ferrari. So?
Car guys appreciate cars because they're cars, not because they'll go .1 sec faster than somebody elses.

The Z could be slower than Mustang, but I take the 350Z any day. Besides, those numbers in reality are pretty close, and all depends on the driver.

I really like the new mustangs, and to give Ford props on not only refusing to take bailout money, but also beefing up their line-up and trying to increase the quality of their vehicles.

However, op your on a Z forum. This means people on this forum obviously like their Z. I cant speak for everyone but I really dont care what car out there is faster than mine. I enjoy my car. I didnt buy my Z to be faster than other cars. Is it going to be annoying when a 17 yr old punk starts talking crap about how the car mommy and daddy bought him is faster? Maybe, but who cares.

Also your comparing the new line of Mustang to an older line of Z as previously stated. No more needs to be said.

I read somewhere there is speculation that Nissan will return to forced induction motors on the Z because they feel that they are reaching the pinnacle of performance for the VQ series engine. Rumor is they will go with a smaller displacement v6. But its all rumors, who really knows? It will probably interfere with the sales of GTR's and increase the price of the Z. The 300zx was discontinued due partly to the increase of the price of the vehicle......

Shoot if your that worried about it:
240sx shell(3k) + LS7(15k) + micellaneous(5k)= 23k of time warping death machine that will blow the doors off of a new 5.0 mustang gt for lesser monies.

Mmmm. I like the sound of this!
@OP. That little difference is insignificant when both cars are taken at the circuit/autox.
Driver mod ftw!

something newer and better will always come along. I am content with my 350z, it performs well and looks great. I welcome the advancement by any auto company to inspire better competition. I could give a **** less if a mustang is faster or not.

My favorite part about the new mustang is that it still has that live rear axle, how sexy. Independent suspension is overrated.

Not in 2011. The HR won't give the 2011 gt a run for the money. And who cares about engine sizes, plus the mustang gt gets better gas mileage. We are talking about two equally priced cars. The gt is going to sh*t all over the z but the z will still have the edge in the twisties. I do agree at some point soon the z will get a nice bump in power or reduction in weight.

so i skimmed this thread but looks like you have a 2007+ Z (unless you swapped on a 2007+ hood) but you quoted previous year Z numbers, altho stats vary depending on the publication. someone correct me if i'm wrong here.

Plus Nissan could careless what ford brings. Now if other Jap. manufacturers does thats a different story.
Nissan has done it before, Who know how many years the GT-R will be sold in the US? I think Nissan will offer an FI Z in the near future. If they made an FI Z for 45K+ and the GT-R is still 90K+K, there will still be a market for this Z.

This all speculation, but remember they were selling the 90's Z TT in Japan at the same time as the R34.
