Where’s the 500-550hp GTR and the TT Z option? Come on NISSAN, I love ya, but you have to keep up! I think a 400 hp Z would actually be a great contender against the c6vette, new camaro ss and the 5.0GT. 400 hp in a 370z shell would be great!
Nissan can’t release a near 400hp rwd car when it has the GTR at only 435hp...
It would be like BMW making the 1series M too close of a match to the M6, people would tend to buy the smaller faster CHEAPER car. There would be some who still went to the M6, but you get to a point where you compete for a sale against your own cars, not good.
So when the GTR moves up (God knows its badass already) we will see a Z that can put a hurting on its v8 competition, like we have in the past few Z years. The key imho is a Z that can hands down give a same model year vette a run for its money.
All hail the HP wars.... its great!
PS who created an account saying he had a 6xxHP Z! LOL, Why would you do that! You know someone is going to call you out!

Even if the new Mustang outperformed a new Z in every way and the prices were the exact same, I still wouldn't buy the Stang. Why? I've never once looked at one of the new Mustangs and thought, "I have to have that".
Screw the numbers, I don't buy a car based on math.

There were 10,844 Shelby GT500s produced in 07 as opposed to 3000 something for the Nismos(I can't get a direct figure as Nissan just says 10% of all 350Z sales). So if you can please let me know a solid figure for the production numbers of the Nismos.

Z's are rare? And maybe you can spot many mustang's, why don't you wave at them as they pass you by. Think about why there are so many of a car, because its a good deal. In 2011 you will be able to get a car over 400hp, with a nice interior, fairly light weight considering the engine size and back seat, a back seat, and vastly improved on track performance. Versus a car that has nice exterior styling, bland interior styling, underpowered, good in track performance, no back seat, average weight, and is slower then most of its competitors. You have fun with your z but remember to wave at me as I pass you by.

His sig says GT500, which I would take any day and will be worth more than a Nismo. Whooptie sh*t about a Nismo, you get a body kit, suspension, exhaust and intake for how much more money? Cars in limited production with numbered plaques are only worth something if the car is unique enough with enough performance to deserve said numbered plaque. IMO the Nismo doesn't. Good luck selling your Nismo at Barret Jackson in 20 years thinking your rare numbered plaque means anything lol.

Apparently you don't understand the meaning of the term "Limited production".

This reminds of way back when I first picked up my 350Z in 2003.
It was probably faster and cheaper than homeboy's 1995 NSX down the street, but truth be told, homeboy felt how I feel right now...
"I don't give a fuuuuuuuug..."

Um. There are a litany of cars faster than the Z. That doesn't mean I want to own one of them.
People buy cars for a lot of different reasons.
I personally wouldn't buy a Mustang. It is a Ford afterthought. They apparently weren't happy with the first incarnation that was supposed to look like a retro version so they went with a new retro look that was even worse. Almost like that clustereff "Camaro" Chebby is trying to foist on the public. The ONLY retro that is worth a second look is the Challenger.
