Just got back from 2019 yo...

2011 Mustangs got nothing on the new hybrid Z: 50 mpg does 10's in the 1/4 to make Vin Diesel proud. It will be featured in Fast & Furious 7.

"That is AWesome Doc!!! Now if only we could time travel back to BEFORE this thread was made, we'd restore the space time continuum!"

widebody350, I don't even know where to begin with you, I read your posts and all can think about doing is not because you're right, but because you're so thick headed that it's not even worth my time explaining anything to you.

Those were also incredibly limited models with only 300 being produced, and technically they're not even 350z's.

You really are struggling to validate your purchase here and IMO your failing pretty miserably. I actually like the nismo z but the price of entry is lol worthy. The only real rational is I wanted it so I bought it.

Also get over the mustang hate. The platform isn't bad and has produced real gems like the cobra termi in 03-04 and the gt500 has been great. Now with the new GT they are really uping the game which hopefully will force Nissan to actually make the Z as fast as it looks.

That all you need is a minimum wage paying job to afford one?

You are more apt to see a Ford Focus on the road than a Mustang, doesn't mean the Focus is a better car.

Ah, yes...the Z32. Loved that car. But HDPDZO6 hit it on the head...Nissan overpriced this car.

Seriously, the Turbo started in the low $30's then crept up past mid $40's by 1996?

After taxes, options, and other fees/whatever, some guys were paying over $50k for this car!

I really hope that Nissan doesnt repeat history and kill the Z with over pricing it like they did the Z32. It wasnt the only factor but was a major factor in the short hiatus for the Z.

If the Z ends up going FI I see just that happening though. The 370 already creeps up to the mid 30's. Add twin turbo and it will easily be just under 40k if not higher....

^^ The Z32 300zxTT was also competing with other Japanese halo cars like the Supra TT, FD Rx-7, Mitsubishi 3000 GT.

All the gadgetry, feature flexing drove these cars to the stratosphere. The economy and market competition is not the same nowadays. I can see the Z getting up there but only for "limited" production models.

I've owned Z's since the 90's and also have driven/owned Mustangs. There is no comparison whatsoever. The technology of the Japanese carmakers owns all your base. Ford had no imagination. Nissan dared to be different. My 1990 300ZX with 222 hp STOCK could outhandle and outrace a stock 1993 LX 5.0 with more hp and torque. Why is that? I knew the driver because he was a good friend. He loved my Z.

And if you actually saw my location, you'd probably see why I made the statement about rare sightings of Z's compared to Mustangs. I organized a Z club, and we have an average of 20 Z33's show up for our Spring meets. I know there are more, but we don't see them like we see the Ford.

I will always enjoy my Z for a lot more reasons than you can imagine. I never get tired of driving my Z. I bought it for a reason. I could care less about back seats. I have a minivan for my family.

You keep thinking that you're better than me if it makes you feel better.
I don't think I am better than you. Search my name I am a fan of the Z. It is the second longest car I have ever owned. Having lived in two of the richest areas in the USA Long Island, NY and Loudoun county, VA I can tell you that z's are a dime a dozen just like mustangs. Any car that is cheap and has some upsides is going to be a dime a dozen. Your the deusche for thinking that a z is rare. I don't pretend to say that the mustang is rare. And having recently owned both a z and a mustang. I am happy with the throaty sound of the v8 and the instant torque available. Don't get me wrong I loved the z and it was great around corners but I'd rather have the thrill of the instant torque. And I agree the 300zx was a fantastic car but come on buddy that's 20 years ago you can't use that as a comparison now. All I am saying is that I used to have a 2004 nissan 350z. I now have a 2006 mustang gt vert. My next car is def going to be the mustang unless nissan steps up its game in a major way. The only upside of the z, albeit 2010 or 2011, compared to the mustang gt is its a little better in the corners. The new gt has every other category won.

The only reason rustang gt is getting such high skidpad rating is because the tire they put on. Ford is just trying to compensate their stone age suspension with Pirelli Pzero. They'll have fun replacing $400 a pop tire after like 500 miles. At the end of the day, it still can't turn for ****.

I was coming to post the exact thing. Had the V6 Mustang beat a 2011 370Z then there would be an issue I'd think.

Regardless, I wouldn't drive a V6 Mustang

Not like a 13.7 car is smoking a 14.0 car

As if everybody ran mag timers and ran consistently, .3 on the street or track is a drivers run. OP is a tool for not realizing that and bench racing like a fawking loser...

1990 Nissan 300ZX - 7.1 - 15.5 (222hp)

1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 - 6.2 - 14.8 (205hp)

1993 Ford Mustang GT (auto) - 8.0 - 16.1 (205hp)

Now if your friend was driving a GT with an auto and 2.73 gears then yes, you would beat him.

LMAO!

People quoting times FTL, same thing with people using their non driving friends to try to prove a point as to which car is/was faster.
