Default A "Heads Up" for new Zzzz owners.

Maybe I'm the only dipstick that has had to learn the hard way but just in case.....

I've put four minor scraps on the right front rim, bumper, & mudguard. The first three I thought were just co-incidences but the 4th convinvced me I was doing something wrong. So I carfully looked at the car.

This is the first car I've owned where the wheels sit "outboard" of the edges of the hood by several inches. I've been misjudging how close I am to curbs. As a result, I've "curbed" the front rim twice, the bumper once & the mudguard once.

Give yourself a little more room so those nasty curbs don't jump out & getcha!

i think most owners go through that adjustment phase unfortunately. i scraped mine twice in the beginning. fortunately, it was that black plastic strip that runs under the bumper and then it was just the tape... not the actual strip.

A good dose of paranoia has saved me so far. I actually had night mares concerning it the first night I brought it home.

yeah, I scraped my front bumper a few times till I realized the car is like 3 feet shorter than the average parking spot, and you dont need to pull in very far.

but the sides... well I just look like a fool, cause Im the car parked about 3 feet from the curb

Yea i had to park far away from the curb with my aftermarket wheels. Its better than having a curbed rim! What i used to do to avoid scraping the bumper on the curb is park next to a shiny, clean car, and look at the reflection of your car in thiers and u can see how close your front bumer is to the curb...

Perhaps I should add my Brick's right front does NOT look like it would qualify for battle pay! To see the the bumper & splashgard scrapes one has to get on hands & knees. The rim scrapes are on the lip holding the tire in place and are not easily visible.

Still, I know they're there!
