ha ya if you bolt on a bigger turbo and forged crank. the car was already designed with the right sized exhaust and intake for the turbo on the speeds and they are still slow and handle like crap. ive ridden in my buddies GF's speed3 and it felt very cheap.
3speed competes with a cobalt ss and people thought those were a close race to the z also. it wasnt.

also i understand the power band argument about the hr but its not as spectacular as some claim compared to a DE, ive made this point before, but its litterally a 2% power gain. even full bolt-on on both it will still be less than 5% difference at that point its a drivers game.

No? All he had was intake, downpipe, exhaust, fuel pump upgrade, and drag radials. 12.5 @ 109 with slips to prove. I'm not sure where you're getting your info from.

You are slightly retarded. You drove your friends GFs MS3 and you feel the need to base all of your self proclaimed knowledge on that one single event? Your z is slow and you are retarded. Get your facts straight before you start yapping like you know whats going on. You do not need a forged crank, or a larger turbo to make good power and run good track times. They might not be the most expensive cars, but the motor is no slouch. With a good tune and some e85 they will hang with allot of the cars on the street, to include Zs

In fact, there's a member who posted a roll race against an HR on a 50 shot. The MS3 had e85 and a good tune, making well over 300whp and gobs of torque (350+). Pulled him pretty easily.

At the end of the day, there are PLENTY of stock turbo Mazdaspeed 3s making over 300WHP, not crank hp. It really is simply. Intake, Downpipe, E85 and a tune and you are at or over 300hp. So JOKER, if you choose not to believe that, then that is on you. But the facts are there if you do so choose to educate yourself.

bmyles he upped the boost to about 30+ then. is that car still running? i can put a 150 shot to my car and make close to 400hp, doesnt mean its efficient or reliable.

pte, i mentioned one instance, my most recent one, my good friend in college had a speed3 sedan and it lost many races to my other friends A4, which i then smoked in my camaro (before i had my Z) i havnt had my z race my camaro yet but i know it would be closer than than the audi. i have ridden in another speed 3 but it wasnt pushed so wtvr.

also all this talk about what is faster which engine is faster blah, leads to an easy comparison. turbo sti 300hp, turbo mazda 270hp, turbo evoX mr 360 hp @ 22lbs of boost, non turbo Z 300+ hp, turbo Z spanks all the former and goes into the lambo/corvette class of speed.

No, to make 330whp in the MS3 on e85, you only need about 23-24psi on the stock turbo and there are guys with thousands of miles daily driven, no problems.

Also, speed 3 sedan? The MS3 only comes as a hatchback, so clearly whatever that sedan was, it wasn't a Mazdaspeed and it probably had some hackjob Honda-Tech turbo kit on it.

First off, the Mazdaspeed 3 ONLY came in the wagon. You truly need to educate yourself. Second, i seriously doubt a stock turbo ms3 was running 30+ psi. All im saying is you need to educate yourself, because you are clearly talking about a platform you have no knowledge on.

LOL @ a 350z ever being put into the same league as a Vette or Lambo. You are delusional . And when does an Evo X make 360hp @24psi.

I second the guy that mentioned the RSX. Because you can turbo it and push over 20 psi and spank anything. because racecar

What was that? I'm sorry all I heard was blah blah blah....

"Ever wonder how much power a Naturally Aspirated Stock Internal/Stock cams VQ35HR is capable of? We believe this to be the current record. Of course we cannot disclose all modifications, however they include: Z1 Prototype Intakes, Z1 Headers (soon to be released), Z1 Test pipes, Tomei Titanium Expreme Cat-Back Exhaust, and of course UpRev/Osiris Dyno tuning on our in-house DynoJet. This combination yielded a gain of 80rwhp @7400rpm and 65ft-lb @4500rpm, making a sleeper out of this stock looking Nismo 350Z."

I feel the same way about STIs and EVOs. I'm not sure what they need to be labeled as but there was a time when a sports car was a sleek, 2 door, and sometimes 2 seater car. The EVO is a box on wheels and far from a conventional sports car.

Don't get me wrong I love the mid 2000s STIs. EVOs on the other hand, they could all burn for all I care. Fugly car.

It's not like that man, everyone just wants to be proud of their rides. I have a DE and LOVE it! Would I like a HR with that beautiful V3 smile? HELL YES!!! But I still love my car and I still think it's fast! There's always gonna be someone faster or prettier. Doesn't mean we're not happy.

I laugh at all this bs.... Even 300 WHP is crap by today's standards, nothing to brag about. Speed3 can lug all your **** and pretty much keep up with a z.
