Depending if the Z is 332 or 350. No definite reports yet on what it will be. That is why I said 50+~ Meaning 50 or more hp around there. Reading comprehension owns you.
So why does the Challenger with 425 hp and 420TQ at 4140lb high 13 low 14 sec car? Because it's weight is so heavy and it is slow due to that. The Camaro is the same way. Even the GM forums are saying the Camaro will not beat a 370z. Amazing.
You failed at math and physics.

So when did 422-332 = 50 hp. Last time I looked that was 90. Not to mention the 138 ft lb difference in torque.
Did somebody fail math?
And yes, a 3800lb car with 422 hp and 408 lb tq will *** spank a 350z in a straight line.
Now, notice I have said nothing about handling, these are two different animals, and the Z will outperform it no doubt, the SS has a great suspensions tuned by Petters, and it will be a good handling car, but not in the same league as the 350, or 370 for that matter.
Look, im not trying to start **** with anybody here, I just have a pet peeve for mis-information and people over aguing cars that NONE of you have driven.

agreed. camaro will be a mid to high 12s car on street tires, and very low 12 on stickies. Hard to compare the z to the ss, but if op is deciding between evo and ss, I'd go SS. I was in a similar spot and didnt get the 07 z mostly because it was a 2 seater, and aftermarket is kind of weak for it too, but that wasnt the main reason.

Currently I am driving a 158hp Scion Xb (AKA the Toaster) so either car would be an incredible improvement. When we got my car the reason I couldn't get a 350Z or something of the sort was because of insurance, so I was stuck with a 4-door, non-sports, less than 200 hp car. My Dad promised me once I graduate and turn 18, next June, then I can get a new car. I am very happy with the Scion, but my fuel-broiling engine that is a heart lusts for more. My top two options are ofcourse the Nissan 370Z and the newest Chevy Camaro SS, both around $30-35k.
Chevy Camaro:
Pros:
422 hp LS3 with Tremec-6060 Transmission from Z06 and Viper.
Incredible Design and fairly nice interior
0-60 mph: 3.8 sec.
Cons:
about 3800lbs
Nissan 370Z:
Pros:
332hp with a 6Sp Manual
about 3100-3200 lbs
Incredible Handling
Cons:
Comparitively low power
more expensive
2-seater
I would like the better performing car all around, and I would like the car to be the best of the two on the Nurburgring because I'm planning to take the car there when I can afford it. Please help me out!!!

Do yourself a big favor and go out and buy a brand new 350Z before they are all gone and if so, get the Camaro. Either way, be careful with all that power under the hood. You're still in the learning years whether you believe it or not. It would be a shame to have whatever car you buy get damaged teaching you this fact.

First off, those times were from an AUTOMATIC Challenger, secondly, the SRT-8 weighs 4200 lbs....once again you suck at math. Its still 350-400 lbs heavier than the 3800 lb SS. Not to mention, ITS A ****ING AUTOMATIC. The Manual transmission cars are a bit quicker.
And please give me the link to the GM forums where this is being said, I bet you cant ****ing find anything...
If you wanna keep being a dick, ill argue with you all day, its not my fault you cant realize that a 400 lb heavier, automatic transmission challenger is going to be slower than a 6 speed manual SS Camaro.

Wrong. Watch the video troll. They were SHIFTING the car doing the 1/4 run. You can easily see it and hear it. And the weight above is what I mentioned is the weight of the SRT-8, not 4200lb. You have proven to know nothing.
13.8 for the Hemi, 13.2-13.4 for the SS taking off for 400lb. The Z currently does those times bone stock.
Wow.....amazing what the internet brings in these days.

Yea, we don't know yet, reason I said 332 or 350 and 50+~. We don't know yet. But 3850~ lb weight for the camaro does not include the weight of the passenger. That was probably dry weight too. Who knows.
Either way, we will have to wait and see what the 370z weight is too, 3000-3100 would be great, but Nissan has a bad habit of making cars heavier.

Dude, keep in mind, the reason I signed up for this forum is because I am probably buying a 370. I dont understand the deal here though, I just cant see how you would think that, the power to weight is about the same for both cars, the 6-speed with launch control on the SS will haul ***, I dont know, I guess we will have to wait and see, I am quite suprised about the Vette forums though, I wouldnt have expected that, but hey, whatever.

save yourself the trouble and get an RSX Type S or Civic SI....
the extra money saved u should purchase strut/sway bars, coilovers, sticky tires, driving school and learn how to drive properly with a FWD before even touching a RWD let alone with 300+ HP
ur still young and coming from a scion, you will be power hungry..and that hunger MIGHT get you in a lot of trouble (speeding tickets/accidents)
