The 350z vs 370Z is a different type of comparison. Similar weight with more power....how can the 370Z not be faster.
HR is still faster...

I should just throw my flame suit on now. I have had most of the cars mentioned here, except the HR. For the money in 2000, you could pick up a cheap 300 TT, throw $400 and turn the boost up on those awesome twin turbos!! I got the 370 and I can throw it in a curve much easier than the 300 TT but $ for $ that 20 year old 300Z with TT is hard to beat in a straight line. GRANTED the 300Z in 1994 was over 40k!!!! That would be AT LEAST 50k today. or maybe even in GTR territory!! You could do alot with that old TT

I think something is LOST on half the people posting in here... the fact that we keep saying the HR is faster is a tongue in cheek if you will... Even Veetec who has one the fastest times recorded for a 350Z in his HR is onboard with the fact that we believe the 370Z will ultimately run a quicker time and break into the 12s. The fact at the moment is a bone stock HR has gone 13.1x and the best a 370Z has been reported at is still SLOWER... so for now the 350ZHR > 370Z.

This entire thing will be over as soon as someone with talent gets a chance to run the 370Z down the 1320.

That is so NOT what you have been saying.

You have been arguing for months that the 370 was NOT any faster than the HR.

So now you are saying that the WHOLE time you have been arguing that the 370 IS FASTER.......but it just hasnt been proven yet???????

I hope you have eyes on the back of your head......doing all that back stepping.

Go back and read. I have been saying the 370z has not shown to be any faster yet in any tests done. Just like he said above exactly. The 350Z has done 13.1 the 370z hasn't. Until I see owners running better times I don't see it being faster YET.

No you just can't read.

370Z might be faster but if you track it you'd better install an oil cooler.....

Exactly.. Currently the 350Z is still faster than the 370Z... It will probably remain that way until early spring or late fall when someone at Atco with great driving skill makes a record pass in the thing. The only thing that 'we' are now wondering is how much quicker will the 370Z be on the extreme end of things... Personally I think it will best the 350Z HR by 2 tenths... but it could end up being more or less. Just a big wait and see game.

Technically the 370z was built to be faster. But you can't take the crown away from the 350zHR until the times have been placed on record.
(Not magazine times)

Example: Celtics win the Championship last year. The Cavs or Lakers are probably are a "better" team this year. But the Celtics are still considered the Champs untill the next team is on record for winning that title.

So it doesn't even matter if the 370z has 500 hp and can possibly do 11s in the quarter. Until the times are recorded, the 350zHR should still be considered #1 and the 370z is an undecided rank at the moment. Sorry for the long explaination, but it seems that some people dont get that part.

Magazine times do count IF they are done on an actual track. Several Magazines actually rent a dragstrip and do their tests. Now if they are doing the GPS based crap on random strips of pavement with undetermined rollout factors I am with you.

You like to not post all my post info. Anyone can go back and look. I said no times have been faster than the 350Z HR yet. Fact the 370z is not faster than the HR 350Z as of right now.

Well, true but I like to focus more on individual racers that know the car. Either have owned or driven the car enough to be able to factor those into the equation. Were the magazine tests done by individuals that had enough time to really know the car? If knowing the car doesn't play a factor then that's fine too. I would just think that after a little while, a Z owner who has practiced at a track and gotten everything down could turn a magazine time of 13.3 into 13.09 or something like that.

Very true..though exception exist in the magazine world that remain unmatched by many...

Evan Smith - MM&FF / GMHTP
Rick Jensen - HPP

Then you have people like Jordon Musser, Ranger, Jaime Furman, etc that can hop in a car and start embarassing the very people who own them. Just rediculous talent... Some of these guys are impossible to beat... Evan Smith holds records for Terminators, Mustang GTs, Camaros, etc... Rick Jensen just runs retarded times no matter what he is driving, Ranger and Jaime have both cracked 10s in bone stock C6 Z06s, Ranger went high 11s in a bone stock C5 Z06 and Jaime also just went 10s in a bone stock Viper... some magazine times should just not be ignored and some guys don't seem to need any practice..haha.

Reading that just makes me wanna go out to the track. My goal is to hit 12.5 first. But that'll take practice to even get there. If I was nearly as good as those drivers it'd be like 11.9s lol
