Here are a couple of pics of the stock 350z/g35 TB compared to a 09 Maxima TB.

to make it work and avoid soldering wires you will need this PNP harness made by surratt

I also had a adapter plate made for it to bolt up to the plenum. I'll post pics when I get it installed.

hmmm how much is the kit for the adapter plate and the harness going for? i know this is more of a pm talk but i figure a round about would help...would it come with the maxima tb or would be have to hunt one down our selves?
also anyone sending of their tb to be ported i recomend cordova motorsports. ive had nothing but good results with them, they can do most makes and models you just have to email them for pricing

Yeah I'm cutting off those lines also. TB I got for $164 shipped on eBay, harness for $100 from member surratt.

Adapter made by a maxima guy

I will be using 3in MAF housing, 3in Samco tube, PC filter with Stillen CAB modified to take in air from the lower grill also.

Track testing next Saturday.

2bad240 did you port match your plenum neck to the TB?

I am guessing the Max TB outer diameter is about 3.25 inches. Did you use a reducer coupling to make the 4" intake fit? Does the intake have a velocity stack on it? When you installed this intake, did you get the car tuned? Was it driveable, seems like the motor would run really due without recalibrating the maf voltage in the ECU.

@SurraTT
EDIT: What filter/stack are you using and where did you get the intake tube from/fabbed/whatever?? So 3in/75mm intake tube with 4in velocity stack filter?

Has anyone done any testing on a progressive intake tube? IE: 4in opening from filter (Can probably fit a 5-6in velocity stack w/ filter) progressively coupled down to a 3in at the maxima throttle body?

derek i know you know this, but this post is more for the rest. i have the exact same setup as derek in terms of the adapter plate, harness and throttle body. i made my own 3.5" intake fed from a modified 350z airbox/5" ram air. guys, in reference to the coolant lines... you can put the coolant line in a vise and rotate the tb so it clears the lower plenum. you dont have to cut them off. derek - props on the documentation and determination! looking forward to your results! ill post my reviews when i get the intake tube back from thermal coating...

I figure that im doing an 80mm tube, mounting the MAF sensor in the tube about 4 inches back from its factory location. The fit the filter, open up my JWT pop charger adapter to 80mm and have it welded to the intake tube for a velocity stack.

I may think about upping the piping to 90mm.

Has anyone ported out there throttle body inlet on the intake to see if it will make more power then an adaptor plate?or is there even enough material too do it?
