Default dash kit for an 06

does anybody know where to get a dash kit for an 06. I think they may have changed the angle a little, but was hoping someone could confirm or deny this.

It is true that the new 350z has a change, its just a small curve on teh bottom of the HU area. i have seen some ppl put in 30-05 kit on and it fits just the bottom is missing a chunk. IDK if they have made one yet but im sure tehre is one on the way.

2005 kit in a 2006 looks like this, little gap at the bottom, I'll probably fill it with a vinyl. If you are in no hurry I'd wait for the new ones to (hopefully) fit better.

I just installed my alpine cda-9855 into my 06 tonight using the Metra kit. It looks like ****. I cant wait for them to release an actual kit for the 06's. Does anyone have any leads on a new kit?

When I used to work in the business, Metra was always the first to come to market w/ new kits. It might not hurt to give them a call. I wouldn't be surprised if they're already on it.

EDIT: Did some research....no word online about 06 kits for any model. here's their contact info.

it doesn't look like it fits at the bottom or the top sides. On a $35k car, that's just not acceptable....not to me at least.

I dont even know how you got yours to lay flat like that. On the single din install, it sits way back in the dash at the top, and none of the sides even come close to fitting. Yours actually looks ok, but could be better. We will get metra on the case.

no i doesn't fit perfect but it's all i had to work with...the car is still pretty brand new and unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars to have something custom fabbed and fiberglassed, you'll just have to wait for an '06 model to come out as there are many difference, mainly the bottom is has rounded edges and there are simply more curves now than before

the head unit itself sits flush on the bottom but sticks out on the sides as well as the top...i doubt anything can be done about that considering the curves

I just talked to Metra and the 2006 kit has not been released yet. They have it listed as TBA and didn't seem to have a good idea of when it will be ready.

Awesome, thanks for the update.

If a bunch of use bug them, maybe they will make it sooner rather than later.

Many thanks to all of you working on getting info on the '06 kit. It will be a big help for all of us once it's released.

$200 for a dash kit? Damn... I could do it for $50 and that's just 'cause I'd want to make it worth my while. Tell you what, if someone sends me two dash kits I'll make one for my car (also an 06) and one for you. No charge.
