Default Flashing Airbag Light on the dash

Anyone know how to reset the airbag? I pulled the entire interior out of my car to install my sound system and sound deaden all the exposed panels. When everything went back in the Airbag warning light keeps blinking on the dash panel.

I would like to avoid having to take my car into the Nissan dealer to resolve this.

Search will help you to reset it.

(Disconnecting your seat without disconnecting the -ve battery terminal is what set it off)

"Just to recap the solution that was posted the other day (it worked ...)

1) Put the key into the ignition and wait until the airbag light starts to flash ....

2) Turn the ignition off ... wait ten seconds (use a stopwatch) and repeat step 1. Do this four times. Light should turn off."

I've done it and it works...if you don't have a stop watch, leave your door open (the 'door ajar' buzzer goes off every second)

Why thats a novel idea! Search. I did and I didn't come up with the result I was looking for. I searched my nissan repair manual on CD and found it.

If anyone else needs to know here it is.

Turn ignition On

Wait until the airbag light on the dash turns off and at the same moment turn the ignition off.

Wait at least 5 seconds

Repeat 2 more times.

It appears to have worked, the light is now off. It was starting to drive me crazy.

I'm assuming this doesn't disable the airbag or the airbag light, just resets the circuitry?

Will this work if you don't have any of your airbag connections connected? After my accident, my front connection isn't connected and my passenger connection is just hanging. Can i still get that light to stop blinking?

does anyone know how to make the light stop blinking if you installed aftermarket seats in your Z and dont have the seat airbags anymore? I worked on a Z that someone managed to trick the car into thinking the seat was still plugged in, was it a resistor or something?

you can buy a connector that'll plug directly into the wiring to fool the ECU...I don't have a link to it, but know it exists.
