Rearview Mirror.
I've had my system in my car for about a month now, i'm running All Diamond Audio stuff, uncle had a bunch of it for cheap. Right now i've got a D6 12 inch sub, and it pounds hard, anyways. I'm sure that when you guys bump hard enough your mirror shakes and whatnot, but mine makes crazy noises, and makes the music sound horrible, and this is with the volume on 10 and the Bass waaaay down. Should I re-glue it or something?
Before you worry about your mirror you might worry about your ears ... which btw are also shaking and whatnot. Put a sound pressure meter in your car when you have the bass "waaaay down" and then look at an OSHA sound level chart. Volume on ten is equal to how many dB again?
When I have my bass down real low the only thing that shakes my mirror is the 300 horse power under the hood and the crapy roads.
Hate to come off as an *** but when people are more concerned about their mirror vibrating than they are blowing their hearing it kind of gets me going. Practice safe sound.
And no your mirror isn't loose it's simply reacting to the sound energy filling your car just like your ears are. Except the mirror having thousands of times more mass isn't taking a beating as bad as your hearing is.
Enjoy while it lasts.

To answer the question (I just solved this same issue in my car)......
What is ratteling in the morror are the buttons. They don't fit snugly in the housing. I took my mirror out of the car and disassembled it. I then cut small strips of sound damping and damped the mirror housing. Then I put a small square of sound damping on the back of each button. It solved my problem.
