Default Radar Detector??

Hey...just wondering what you think bout radar detectors...do you guys use them? if so which one is a good one these days? i used to always have one when i was like 16...but havent really used one since....are they effective?

Either the Valentine 1 or the Escort Passport 8500 X50.

I personally have the Escort and that thing is great, no tickets after two years and I drive like a god damn maniac (Knock on wood). Also, I think it looks better than the Valentine .


Just FYI, there's been many topics on this subject so I'm sure you could find useful information with the search feature.

My friend has had the Escort Passport 8500 X50 since about this past May. it works great and he got a pretty good deal on it. he got it brand new off ebay for about $75 bucks cheaper.

I've got the V1 and I would never use anything else. The directional arrows and the bogey counter are great features.
