Default New here, advise appreciated

Hi all,
I am new here - now looking into buying a 350z. I wanted to ask for your advise on my dilemma:
Since Bluetooth connectivity and USB / MP3 audio is important for me, Should I :
1. Look for a higher price Touring / Grand Touring with this option included, OR
2. Look for a low mileage base / enth. model and spend the money saved
on replacing the stock unit (I am not the one to install it on my own, so I would look for a shop to do that for me in a clean manner..)

What do you think ?

Thank you!!

Elad

^^ Hi Elad,

The stock OEM setup in the Z (Bose or Clarion) is a minimal system that begs for replacement.

I think that answers your question.

Thanks Spike100!!
How much do you think I should put aside for :
1. The work to do that in a shop
2. A unit that will fit the 350Z perfectly
?
This amount will then help me get the price I would pay for the car..

Thanks again!

You are asking a question that is impossible for me to answer.

I can only provide an answer if you provide the $$ amount you are willing to spend on your CES.

head unit replacement is cheap. i bought a $500 double din pioneer, $15 on mounting hardware and $25 iirc on the harness. Install took ~45 mins. I never had done it before either. But if you want to pay someone, circuit city is pretty cheap and they do decent work. I think if you buy their headunit its REAL cheap or its ~$90 plus parts if you bring your own.

Thanks Jason and Spike100!
I have no idea what is my selection when looking for such a system - how do I know which system would fit in the 350z ? What do I need to look for ?

Thanks again for breaking in a newbie..

as far as i remember, you just need a single, or double din deck and the matching install kit. so whatever you want. i have no idea which ones have blutooth, i didn't need it so i didnt pay attention. if i were you, i'd get a quality brand. there are so many options out there. i picked mine because it was touch screen and had an ipod adapter, not just the aux cord.

Ok, Let me know if I got it right now:
I am looking for any single or double DIN head unit
+
an installation KIT like this
+
a harness depending on the car model and details
+
Installing service I found from best buy

So I should calculate ~30 for the kit + ~30 for the harness + ~50 for the installation + the price for the unit itself.
Right ?

Thanks!
Elad
