Alpine 9833 or 9835 any thoughts?
I am currently considering putting an Alpine 9833 or 9835 in my roadster when it arrives next week. The main reason for the choice of headunits is due to the Ipod compatbility that is coming out in September. Does anybody have any experiance with these units? Is there any real benefit to the 9835 over the 9833? Also any tips on where to get it for the best price? While you are commenting any suggestions on component speakers? Thanks
I think they are pretty much the same unit. The only difference being the display, which is great, and is worth the price difference IMO. I currently have the 9835 and love it. As for speakers, i personally like CDT. I have the Eurosport 620's and highly recommend them.

the 9835 is one of the nicest units that alpine has put out. The screen is awesome and allows 4 lines of resolution vs the standard 2 liners of the lower end models. It would be perfect for the iPod interface coming out in September mainly because of the larger screen which would allow more info to be displayed. It also comes packed with alot of features. I wont get into it since you can read all about it on the alpine site. But at $600 retail, its a bit pricey. I am getting this unit in conjunction with my kenwood kvt 911dvd so i can get the best of all three worlds. Mp3, Ipod, DVD/Nav. Working at a stereo shop really does have its perks eh?

Thanks for the info. I will be picking up my 9835 tomorrow. I actually got it for a great price $479.00, so I feel pretty good about it.

Head unit is the best I have owned so far. The Biolite display + Quick Search make it the best unit for playing mp3 disks and the crossover features are awsome as well.
Guys,
From what I read, it needs a power line that goes directly to the battery.
If I have a distribution block, do I need another fuse holder for the HU or since I have fuse holder already from the amp wiring kit, I can just ignore it?
