yeah anyone with a 370Z that would like to trade ring and pinion I'd be tickled pink. The 3.74:1 would be a nice trade for my 3.91:1

I might call Mike

I'm already shifting enough, that would make the gears even shorter, going with the 3.74 would make the effective gear ratio closer to 3.99:1 verses the effective 4.18:1 running the 3.91:1 if my math is right. All of this due to the shorter tires, back when I ran the 295/35 tires the 3.91:1 was effectively a 4.09:1 and that was nice, but I'm digging the Yokohamas for what I do.

245/45/18 circumference = 83.81"
295/35/18 circumference = 82.05"
295/30/18 circumference = 78.41"

245/45/18 gear multiplier = 83.81/83.81 = 1.00
295/35/18 gear multiplier = 83.81/82.05 = 1.02
295/30/18 gear multiplier = 83.81/78.41 = 1.07

therefore
245/45/18 | 3.52*1.00 = 3.52:1 | 3.74*1.00 = 3.74:1 | 3.91*1.00 = 3.91:1 | 4.08*1.00 = 4.08:1
295/35/18 | 3.52*1.02 = 3.60:1 | 3.74*1.02 = 3.82:1 | 3.91*1.02 = 3.99:1 | 4.08*1.02 = 4.17:1
295/30/18 | 3.52*1.07 = 3.76:1 | 3.74*1.07 = 4.00:1 | 3.91*1.07 = 4.18:1 | 4.08*1.07 = 4.36:1

And now that I have such a tall gear, I can't find a 35 series R comp, i was awesome with Street tires, and I was pretty dayum quick with street tires, now I'm like a nissan ad shift_alot, LOL

Track: Road America Elkhart Lake Wisconsin
Date: 10-9-11
Best Lap time: 2:34.5
Car: 2004 Nissan 350Z Base
Tires: Hoosier A6; 255/35/18 (massive for 255's )
Brakes: OEM Brembos; Carbotech XP-12's in front; XP-10's in rear
Other Modifications: Zeal Function X Coilovers, Quaiffe LSD, Hotchkis Sways with SPL spherical endlinks, Motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer, Kinetix HFC's, Motordyne 3in single exhaust, Black Enkei RPF-1's, Braille 15lb battery, Oil cooler, APR GTC-300 Wing, Homemade wood front splitter and aluminum air dam, Cusco front A-arms, SPC rear camber arms and weighed 3210lbs with me in it and about 1/2 tank of fuel.
Lap Notes (Rain, heat, etc): Mid 70's and Sunny!

Sunday fun day with NASA TT. Competition was over on Saturday. My best time was a 2:34.5. The noise you hear under braking is my massively warped rotors. My lap timer for some reason has the start finish a little ways past the start finish, but it is spot on with the times. They match the transponder times. For some reason the lateral G's seem backwards too. Watch the meter during the carosel on the last couple laps. It gets way over there. Weather was beautiful and the scenery was amazing. All the trees were changing colors.

Man, I do not miss HPDE at all. I used to hate that. I know you were being safe which was good, but I when that used to happen to me I would get closer and closer to let them know they need to get out of the way. Even if that guy thought you were slower in the corners, he should have let you by on the straights. He should know your is much faster in a straight line. Hopefully you had some better sessions later that day.

Yeah, like I said in the videos, I was about 23-24 seconds faster per lap. But had some sweet chases with a SUbaru Sti and Cayman R later in the day.

Open lapping at TMP, what do you expect. I give them once chance to let me by and then I just take it.

Track notes. Fairly cool. 7 celcius. which is 44 F. Left front caliper was seizing and melted the rotor and shredded the pad. Ran off the back of the second straightaway with brake failure a couple laps after this.

That's an awesome pic.

I am still wanting to post vids on here from Nats. I recently realized that I will not have data for my fastest lap session.
