Default track guys---------shift ****

You guys that track you car alot, what shift **** are you using. I have been using a RAZO and love it but I was tightened down and broke the threads, just plastic. Don't like the factory shift ****, just wondering a reliable one.

I dont give a crap about "pretty".....

I love my shift **** cause it has that indention and has a sort of pistol grip that fits and feels great! wouldnt change it for anything...actually, if it gets ruined over time, i have another already purchased and sitting in my garage in a box.

No one seemed to like it, but its not about rice for me! I love it for track days...perfect feel...ergonomics to it...

best thing about it is that it doesn't burn off my hand when the car is hot.

What's so bad about the factory ****? That's about the last part I ever planned on changing for track use.

unclip the stock shift boot holder, to get underneath, i used a set of vise grips on the shifter it self, and just turn as hard as you can with the shift **** to loosen it.. you can use a towel and another set of grips on the leather shift **** to twist off, but becareful not to separate the stock shifter.. its a press fit unit of two pieces, and the top piece (which is threaded onto the shifter) may come off from the bottom piece (the linkage part) this happened to me in my 03 track... however i heard nissan reduced the amount of loctite they used on the later years 05+ and the **** is much easier to remove...

I went through the following:

-Nismo aluminum
-Sun Auto Cyberspeed
-Tomei
-Evo-R titanium ****

My favorite as far as feel was the tomei. It doesn't get hot, which is nice since it is made out of some hard plastic material. Putting my hand on a hot **** after being baked in the pits was no fun lol

Here is what I use, yeah the picture is horrible.
Nismo Rubber GT with 60 mm Aluminium extension. I dislike low sitting shifters and now no more misshifts with extension.
