The automatic cluster does not display anything in the gear position display. There is a long story why I have that...

About the metal where the speakers used to be; I am indifferent to removing it. I thought about doing it, but I would think it adds some rigidity to the car. Although, now that I have a cage, it may not be so significant. I may remove it anyway. Not sure if rules will allow it either.

if your not doing any spec z stuff.... its a cheap way to take ~40lbs off the car! but you kinda made it harder for yourself since the roll bar is already in!

Did you find it affected rigidity at all?
I'm probably going to cut mine out for the 30-40 pounds.

I cut it out to put a roll bar in, but I took the car on the track for a weekend before the roll bar couldn't really tell the difference. I could tell a difference after the roll bar though.

Yea. If I decide to do it now, it will definitely be more difficult than before the cage.

Finally got the car washed and ready to go to Mid Ohio this weekend. All the interior stuff is finally done. Car hasn't been clean since October.

I was able to get -2.7 degrees camber on both sides on the front. I am very happy with that because I have the OEM UCA's in with offset bushings plus the car being lowered in the front. It is pretty slammed. You can see in the pic.

Also got me a generator over winter. I will be sleeping at the track a lot inside the trailer with heat or AC since I got this bad boy!

Good luck this weekend!

No I didn't. My buddy that I always go to the track with has one. He bought one last year right before Nats. It has come in very handy for storage and a place to hang out.

A couple pics from this past weekend. Tried setups with and without aero components.

Full aero was fastest, but I didn't get enough time to test them. It rained a lot this weekend. I also had passengers in and out of the car too. I finished 1st on Saturday and 2nd on Sunday in TTB. Me and the guy in first on Sunday both broke the previous TTB record, but he beat it by 1/2 second more. It is the guy in the gold 240 in the pic. When I added the front splitter/air dam, the car picked up tons of grip in the fast corners and braking down the back straight. My tune definitely helped too...I was hitting 133mph at the end of the back straight where as before was about 127.

The aero is definitely faster; biggest reason is T1 is a fast corner and leads onto a short straight. T11 is also another really fast corner.

T1 with just wing the car would plow as expected, so I had to back off the throttle a bit to get it to rotate. When I added the splitter/air dam, it would just plant and I could put it to the floor at the apex and it would stick it like glue. Loved it!

No problem Matt. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The third pic above is when you were riding with me. I never got to ask you; how did you finally like the track once it dried up? I bet you had a lot more fun on Sunday afternoon.

I'll be at Putnam in a couple weeks to try and win me some more tires to complete the next set so I won't have to buy them.

BTW... My best time for Sunday was about 1.5 seconds faster than when you rode with me. I put the splitter/air dam on and the new 245 Hoosiers. I left some time out there, too. I only ran full aero for two sessions and that wasn't enough time to get used to the grip.

Not to thread jack. As far as removing the speaker box, I have done it and it dosen't seem like it was ever attached to the chassis in a way that would provide rigidity. As you can see in the pick of my car there is 3 points of attachment along the bottom and on the sides. However the bottom is the only part directly to the chassis. The sides are just sheet metal paneling over the outer unibody. I did drive it around about a week and felt no difference except in weight.

Thanks for the pic. It looks much nicer without all that in there. I was more concerned that it ties to the body at higher points which I think would help. I do however think once the car is caged, it won't matter. I still may take it out. I am undecided. I know this has been asked, but did you weigh it? I am thinking 20-30lbs.
