They are real headlights...I just painted them...

Nice to see all those Spec Z's on the track. (hate to see the carnage though.$$) Now that you've run a few weekends what's the consensus on the spec tires, the BFG's? Curious to know how many heat cycles you guys are getting and if the tire goes away gradually or quick. I have the comp eval this weekend and am debating putting on a fresh set.
You will probably laugh at this, but i ran all last season and one race weekend this year on the same 4 tires...and i think the other guys did as well...lap times have improved as well

Great to hear that the tires are durable, makes the racing budget an easier sell on the home front. I just noticed that we (Florida region) have a combined event in September with the Southeast region at RA. Looking forward to running with you guys on your great track.
BTW: I am trying to put together some extra fun things for that event...and have cars from all over the East Coast attend...prizes, Nissan car show, flag girls
etc...more to follow..but hope to have a LARGE Spec Z turnout

Yesterday I had a my first track experience with the new Spec Z set up. ABS motor is shot and we didn't do the brake proportioning valve yet. In session 2 I went for a spin. No harm no foul.
Got the pressures about set. Even with the added weight and reduced HP I'm quicker than before finally laying down an official sub 60sec lap
Vid of session 2, playing with Supra and spin. Enjoy

Car has stock diff with a cooler, the spec coilovers and front sway bar, stock rear bar. 250lbs of ballast to the passenger seat. Car was corner balanced before the weight was added.
The car was scaled and balanced at the old weights from last year, then when the rules came out with the increased weight for the HRs, we didn't have time to redo the corner balance. As it sits car is about 50.5% front, 49.5% rear. We set the car low and stiff to maximize front camber. It greatly helped with turn in.
Car has brembo brakes, RPF1 wheels 9/10 with the spec BFGs mounted.
The HR pulls hard but I really do miss the power
. Now I feel like I'm driving a slightly faster less nimble Spec Miata

The first Rocky Mountain Spec Z race for 2013 was held this past weekend. Dave Dirk's DE-powered Z set the pace all weekend, just as he did at Nationals last year. His Brickyard Z ran out of gas in the first race and I inherited the win in my HR-converted Z. Too bad there were only two cars, as we raced for fun, and not any contingency awards the entire weekend. Here's a pic link:
