New NASA Class for 2012: Spec Z
Yup...I plan to be the Spec Z Director all this year and maybe 2014...
My plan is to sell the race car at the end of the 2013 season, but if somebody is ready to buy a car today , I am definitly ready to sell now
In fact, I will help the buyer get setup in racing (from Comp school thru regular competition) and running, maybe do some track day support and driver coaching.

Naw, I will be 60 in October...and ready to retire from "working for the man"...and generally downsizing my life somewhat. After retirment from the Mega Company I work for today, I plan to get back into a small business environment, hopefully in the Automotive world and have some fun
Hopefully something that will have me attending races, trade shows, or involed in a sponsorship somehow...not sure yet. Currently I am subject to waking up each day and asking myself...do I want to drive in heavy Atlanta traffic, perform my technocrat job for 8 hours and drive back thru heavy/nut job traffic anymore...one day soon the answer will be "Hell No"!!!
Also, both my shoulders are hosed up, pulled muscles/rotator cuff injuries that make very high speed steering corrections more and more difficult. I almost stopped racing last year...then SpecZ was announced so I continued on for 2012 and 2013...but will not race much if any in 2014. Many some LeMons/ChumpCar/Skip Barber stuff, and rent-a-ride in select Enduros...but I am too old/slow/cheap/laze1 to be a competitive sprint racers now.
But I will still play with cars...until I am dead...

I hate that you guys can't make it to RA...as we should have a big field with 5-7 cars. I just found out that 3x Fast & Shiny Spec Z from NOLA are attending...WooHaa!!
You guys should really come and play...we likley have the largest Spec Z field in the country...and that means full contengency payouts

We have a work location there. . .
Land is cheaper and I can race with you fellas. . .
The Mrs. doesn't like heat though. hmmm.
Have I got a deal for you...The Guys from NOLA are bringing a Spec Z FOR RENT...So create some boondoggle business trip to Atlanta the weeks before/after the event June 14-16, Hang out at my house as needed, and go racing in a F-ing herd of Spec Zs...and drink free beer and maybe win a cheap trophy and Nissan/BFG contengency...
Bringing the Wifey is optional

Hmmm... tempting.... north to Summit, track I know, no contingency (but points) or south to RA (more Z's, contingency, unfamiliar track)
Drive is not much different either way really.

I'm getting excited! We are still ironing out the details on our end in order to make the trip. We also need to find a driver for the rental and begin prepping the cars. Laze1 if you come across an interested individual for the rental seat, point them my way. I'll PM you all of my contact info.
Thanks,
Jay

Wait, wait, wait. . . What are the fair logistics on renting a car that you used to own? I'll have to talk to team Pelle about this atrocity.

Well, that'll get some attention.
On a completely different topic, I saw you had posted a pic of how you connected your MSD GMR tach signal pickup to the black wire on coil 1 to feed your traqmate...
While I can't locate that picture at the moment I have tried connecting my MSD pickup to each of the 3 wires on the coil pack connector and still nothing on my traqmate.
Was there anything else you did? Do I need to change my traqmate setting from 6 cyl to something else since I am only picking up the pulse from 1 of 6 cylinders (I ran out of time to try this).
Thanks

This is a Pelle Team car for rent...not mine...I plan to drive in this event...unless somebody has a bucket full of $CASH$ to give me
Umm...can't remember...but I will send you my mobile # and call me this weekend and we can figure it out.
However I believe I had to set it to 4 cyl or 8 cyl...
Do you have the special Traqmate junction block to attached the coil sensor wire to?
Make sure you have a good connection on the TQ end and a good common ground and power source for the sensor as well.
