You basically need to Cut some material off of the Silver Trim Ring's Bottom. I have several Pix on back through this thread.

Remove the Ring AND the AC/Control/Console Peice.

Put the Boot over the shift lever, and install the ****.

Peel the sides of the boot u over the **** like you are peeling off a sock. Then grab the ring on the boot and screw it in to the ****. Once it is a t the position you like, Peel it back down and put it exactly over the console.

With everyting how you want it. (I Left just a little slack in my Boot), Re-install the AC/Control/Console Peice.

Make sure you are still where you want the boot, and gently slide the silver ring over the boot. You will have to "tamp" it with you fist in a few places, try not to tear the boot and dont use anything more than a small rubber mallet if you need to use a tool.

It will keep comming off. Don't Frett though, Min didn't come with one either. Go to lowes and get a peice of hard plastic tubing that is just a bit bigger than the Inside Diameter of the ****. (You can find this in the section where they sell screws/washers) Cut a Slit in it wide enough that you can compress it to fit in the ****. Put it inside the **** and slide it over the stick and tighten your screws down. Works like a charm.

The Screws are also Available at most Hardware Stores, They are just Inset Allen Screws. I beleive they are Fine Thread, You sould be able to find some with no trouble and test fit them. Take the **** with you to the Hardware store.

Not to stick out or stop it, I mean the Inside Diameter of the kob when you slide the tube in. When you cut it and insert it, It will un-compress and make a tight fit inside the ****, and give your clearance for the stift lever. The "blue thing" is inconcequential.

people are hating on this mod, but the thing is, that new BMW's and other high end cars with AT come with a leather boot. And people hating on AT, must not realize that some of the worlds most saught after cars are AT only.

Time to wake this old thread up.

Wondering if I should go with burnt orange, or just grab a black leather boot for a "clean" look? I am afraid that the colors will not match just right....

(yeah, before anyone says anything, I'll be flushing the head unit this weekend when I get time...)

I have the Momo shift **** & boot. The top of the boot has a threaded area that is threaded into the bottom threaded area of the shift ****. I wouldn't worry about the A/T haters. I've been driving M/Ts longer than these haters are alive. When they start having problems with their M/Ts, that's when I get my satisfaction knowing that the A/T is bulletproof and performs just as well as M/Ts.

The look on M/T drivers when I kick their arzzes in auto-x --- PRICELESS!

Exactly... I am 6'5" wear a size 14" (or so) shoe, and do not have the room to shuffle my feet looking for the clutch. Not to mention, I didn't want a manual so I didn't buy one. Just like I didn't want a Jetta, a Hybrid, a Mustang or anything else...

I got what I wanted, and until any of these people are paying my mortgage, clothing me, insuring me or any of the above, then they can all keep their mouths shut.

Ok, I'm done with my rant....
