Brakes glazing... (squealing) what can I do?
I just had my 2003 350z checked out at the dealership because the brakes were squeeling. It is the front brakes causing the squealing, However, the brakes are pretty new and apparently do not need to be replaced yet. The dealer said there was pretty much nothing I could do (aside from putting a new set of front brakes on) and that this problem was pretty common. You hear it right when you're coming to a stop, or going through the drive thru or something. It's pretty annoying, and a bit embarrassing when everyone sees that the nice car on the road is the one making the noise. Anything I can do?
mine did that also. I tried taking them off and cleaning the rotors and stuff and it did not help at all. I put up with it until it was time for new pads. My new pads don't squeek.

You didn't metion what model Z you've got. On Brembo-equipped cars, the monoblock calipers tend to squeel when using light brake applications. When you're really on them, they are dead quiet! Most monoblock racing brakes sound like this, so I simply wear it as a badge of honor.
Stock pads suck. I use Hawk HPS and bed them according to instructions. Never had a squeak, except maybe a touch from the rear when they have been sitting a while after getting wet. Yes, I drive my Z in the rain, lol

1. Perform a bed-in procedure as described on the Zechausen website: http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm
2. If the problem persists, remove the pads and re-apply (liberally) anti-squeal to the pad backing plates and other areas as designated in the FSM.
3. If the problem persists, get new pads. Apply a liberal amount of anti-squeal. Bed-in per procedure above.
4. If the problem persists, either the pads you have run are just noisy or you're doing something wrong. Edit: Or there is a real issue with your brakes (doubtful if they are working fine and just squealing)

I had the same problem, turn out that the rotors were on the wrong side ( left on right and right on left ). After that correction , noise all gone. Aftermarket BBK with curve vanes on rotors.
