I'd go the dealership and have your oil changed immediately. Explain you're concerned about the oil consumption issues and that you'd like to perform a test.
Drive the car 1000 miles bring it back and see what it does. If it's not consuming a lot or within normal limits, enjoy it.
I have a tendency to believe that driving patterns dictate how much it consumes, which makes it almost entirely up to the driver as to whether or not they are deemed eligible for the TSB.

How exactly would one inspect an 06 to see if it's being effected by the oil consumption issue? I'm trying to read through the oil consumption thread, but its such a cluster**** of a thread.

I have an 06 w/ 27k miles on the odo and no probs yet with oil consumption. I watch my car though.
I say go for an 07+ the HR motor makes the world of difference.
