Default power ques

when i give my car gas, by this i mean floor it off the line, my car doesnt move. The tires just bounce and my car doesnt go anwyhere. I have an 04 the base model. What could be done to prevent this?

Mikeyj217.......not sure what setup you have.....my first question would be your launch technique..... are you stick or auto?

Then for hardware issues....check the suspension forum for comments on "wheel hop"......actually search on that....you shoudl pull some good info......

You need a LSD. Also, what RPM are you dumping the clutch at?

i have the manual and im not starting high in the rpm range, not really launching.

I know this might sound dumb. But do you turn off the VDC when u race?? because if u dont i know the car will bog.

I am not sure what the scenario is when you experience the bouncing tires, and "car doesn't go anywhere".......

its when i step completely on the pedal and let go of the clutch, but i let go of the clutch in the low rpms

dunno....if you are not stalling.....I would say it is a wheel hop issue......if that is the case, there have been some good documented results with increased rear spring rates and engine damping.......check the search tool.

If it is not wheel hop you are experiencing.....Hmmmm

yea mikey u need to be able to turn the VDC off. I talked to another guy that had just the base model. It keeps him from drifting and taking off fast. sucks for him
