I wish you all the luck. It's just that, you can't blame me for being a skeptic when no pics are posted. I'm from NY...if you aren't a skeptic then you just got burned.

I remember a guy who did an r32 conversion complete w/ the dash and AWD system into a Jetta and he posted pics along the entire build. It was the most popular thread on VWVortex.

BTW..I'm married to Brooke Burke.

Good luck with your build.

not everyone is interested in taking or posting a million pics though...I know I am one of those people.

Exactly. Like I promised before as soon as its stops raining around here, northern illinois I will go pick up my car and print all the charts and scan them in for everyone and thursday I will post my time slips after I go to the track weds night.

As far as picture I believe nate took a few but I tend to be more of a worker and get things done than take pictures of every step of the way.

Good job man,

That is one awesome N/A monster. Can you give us the details of the build, cost of parts and what labor would cost. Were all these runs on pump gas or race gas? What are your other supporting mods (bolt-on's)?

Thanks

Now I do have to say that the comparison of the Top Secret VQ to this VQ is almost like apples and oranges. They made nearly as much power at a far lower RPM (6300). I have a feeling that there is more to be had on this setup (the OP's that is).

Is the top secret motor still the same displacement?

They dropped it in a Skyline R32 GTR though.
Was that WHP, because I have the issue of Modified with the car and they didnt say WHP.

isn't ps even less than crank... also, that motor is an ITB setup with completely different purposes. I doubt that engine can rev as high as 9k...

can't really say "well, it's making more at X rpm" but what is that engine making at 7500? 8000? etc.

also, he's still got supporting systems to change out, the exhaust is possibly a restriction, etc.

Mods are as follows, I may miss a few:
-Forged custom DSS 101.5mm pistons
-sleeved
-titanium connecting rods
-forged lightened/balanced and knife edged crankshaft
-ported lower pleneum and runners
-ported plenum neck
-extrude honed throttlebody with custom titanium butterfly
-epoxy ported and flow benched heads
-oversized titanium valves and retainers
-valve springs
-custom ground camshafts
-fuel rails/injectors/pump
-crawford plenum
-strup headers
-test pipes
-nismo catback
-injen air pipe
-jwt popcharger

Did you keep the same stroke length to take you up to from a 3.5 to 4.0 liters of displacement with the 101.5 mm pistons?

Yeah even if he kept the stock stroke, with a bore size of 101.5 he definitely has a 4.0L.
