I would think in order to hit 400whp NA with the stock 3.5L of displacement, you would need to rev up to 9000rpm, have very little low end torque, and all of the power in the high rpms of the power band. I'll be impressed if you could hit 340hp with a great tune. If you can hit 400whp, that would be sensational, but just don't get your hopes up too high. I wish you luck on your endeavor! No matter what the outcome, this is one of my favorite threads I've seen on the board.

Here is a few things I have been considering:
Honda S2000- the J's S200 put down 312whp I believe with 13:1 compression and a bunch of other things along the lines of what you are doing. I am not sure what the redline was and I also do not know if the rods were lighter or not.
Considering the larger displacement advantage and the fact that you are using titanium rods (which does not entirely mean they are lighter than stock based on their design) you could be hopeful and use a fairly aggressive tune with race gas and hit between 330-340 I bet.
Either way it should be a blast to drive!

best part is he told me a few days ago he was doing this, then BAM, motor is out, rods are here, pistons in, and will be tunign it here soon. PLUS, he was running about my same numbers with nitrous so i know he can drive!!
cant wait to see some 12.0 @ 112 NA with some crazy NA traction!! its very very possible, im pretty sure he is about to raise the bar a bit...

its all together just waiting for the cams, which are done and will be here tomorrow morning according to fed ex. install the cams degree them and put tine motor back in. and by the way the titanium rods are much lighter than stock, he told me 230 grams each lighter. I am going to have numbers this week end if evrthing keeps going smoothly.

There's a built track 350z being repaired here that the driver is claiming 465 whp or so. It revs high (I'm pretty sure close to 8500). He too spared no expense, so if his numbers are even close to legit you'll be there soon! Here's a clip from my phone.. all I can say is nasty! The clip doesn't even come close to doing it justice.

I, myself is getting excited about your project too mate, it is always good to see someone takes the same route as me... Best of luck!!! I have got 8200rpm now and one aussie member is planning to go 8500rpm as well... I would love to see how it turns out and how good it sounds!!!
I think 12.6:1 is a great one... I surely know 11.5:1 is just not enough as soon as we dynoed my car after the rebuild You gotta go beyond 12:1!
Keep us posted!!! Thanx!
cheers,
richie

well, should have the motor all done today and maybe even running. Just checked online tracking and fed ex says my cams are out for delivery which means usually here by 9am or so. Thats all we are waiting for.
I also decided yesterday to install a 3.9 gear with the added revs figured would work real well, so that shows it will be here today as well ups next day so by 10:30.
I hope to have it on the dyno either late late tonight or early tomorrow.
Only thing i'm worried about it I hope the crawford plenum isn't going to hold me back or if I should have gone with something more aggressive and free flowing?

good stuff guys. I too just ordered my pistons but discretion got the better part of valor and I stayed in the 11 range too - anything higher is just not kosher on 93 octane for everyday use
350z0827 - if your head work was done with that plenum in mind, I bet it works well for. The trick is doing what your doing - not doing breathing mods piecemeal - everything has to be designed to work as a unit in order to get the desired effects.
bofa - that car sounds sweet Any insight into what it has or where it's from?
