didn't bigbri rev to 8k with a built TT motor? that is pretty crazy.

what's the highest someone has raised it to on a stock internal motor so far? 7200?

a few people had their stock rev limiters at 7500 for a while but i would never recommend that. i had mine at 7200 with no problems.

why would you not recommend it? fuel/timing or component speed?

Big Bri is revving to 8200 I believe and making power the whole way with his setup at a massive 22psi if I am not mistaken!

Check some dyno's and you'll see that the power drops after 6ish grand.

that and on non-revup motors, the rod bolts simply won't hold up on stock rods. ARP rod bolts would help a lot, but after 7200rpm or so you need a new valvetrain anyways IIRC.

but what if you are running headers, etc. and have the flow to back up an increased rev.... also, the point isn't the power after only, it's when you shift to stay in the powerband more. if you raise it just a few hundred, when you shift you can stay higher in the power. but it all depends on the powercurve I guess. when i had headers/testpipe there was a noticable gain after 4100 or so. also taht damn fuel cut is SO annoying if you are a second late ; )

that all doesn't matter, the cams basically dictate where the power is made.

I don't think its so much of that. Even FI'd people are experience a dip in power after that same area if I'm not mistaken.

I don't think it would help staying in a powerband where you are losing power. Especially if it were a range from 6.2k-7.5k. It could help in first gear I'd imagine, but beyond that I think it wouldn't accelerate as fast.

I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Well, motor is all together and ready to go in the car. Came home quick to make some dinner becasue going back to the shop and were are working until its running and on the road. Dyno tomorrow!! All went togther smoothly especially since all the bolts ans stuff were new. Just trying to figure out what to do for a tach though since the stock only goes to 8k, he is putting in a autometer for now just to test with so we know what rpm is at. Got he axles and the gear in it this afternoon also so we should be ready to go soon.

i dont know if you saw the top gear vid but 5 professional wrc mechanics can take apart and reassemble a ford focus suspension from top to bottom and unmount and remount the tranny all within 45mins. fasssst

i would love to have mechanics or friends that work a shop that is so dedicated to a car. Put everything in the car with quality in a record time! good job to 350z0827 and crew

in regards to the tach, doesn't the Nismo go up to 8500 or so? I can't remember but I think it's higher.
