I have about 100 miles on the V2, can't wait until break-in is over. I must say this engine seems to run smoother (yes, i know it's new). As soon as I got it home I installed my oil catch can, so far it's empty. See what it looks like @ 500 miles.

its on the website under contact. Then consumer affairs. Takes a little while to get in touch with somebody that talks english. Seems like it routes you to a call center outside the country and you have to keep asking for somebody else. I spent about 2hrs on the phone today trying to get somebody to call me back, so we will see.

One of my many close G friends with revups had to wait ~5-6wks for his V2 back in late 07.
SM at his dealer said had to wait for next shipment of V2's and one had his name on it (more like his dealers name on it I would think).
Hoped that helped.

well, i just had a follow up call from nissan. They said that because i had synthetic in the motor at the time of change that they need to do a second oil consumption test on the car. Im like WTF. It states nowhere in the TSB that synthetic oil causes a difference. Im like wouldnt synthetic cause less of a burn. Im supposed to call him back tomorrow and follow up. This is getting old though. Every time i do something its the total run around.

When the nissan rep got back with me, that was the first thing he asked. I dont have any mods, but i asked him why would that matter when there is already a TSB out? So you might try and take most of it off

Greetings
Had first oil change on my new V2. Oil consumption has been 6mm in 3145 miles.
I had oil level checked at 1080 miles and it was 3mm low. They topped it up and I went 2065 miles with another 3mm useage. I then had the oil and filter changed. It seems that the oil useage is diminishing. I am out of my break-in period, so I am using the engine harder these days. Also the advent of warm (hot) weather here in Arizona should put an additional strain on oil useage.
So far the oil consumption is negligible, I am happy so far. I check the level weekly, but I think once a month may be a little less ****!
Good luck to you all, talk to you in another 3K or so.

2006 enthusiest 6spd revup. motor consumed about 1 to 1.5 quarts per 3500 miles, and progressively got worse as the mileage racked up. they did a test, it was barely outside of the accepable margins, so they topped it off and asked me to drive it for another 1000 miles, so i preceded to smash the living hell out of this motor, so i could be done with my bumper that would turn black after washing, and tips that got filthy days after cleaning. brought it back, they had already ordered my motor and it was already there! really cool dealership, (dirito brothers nissan walnut creek) even with mods!
engine swapped at 29k, consumed a half a quart in 700 miles, when i took it in for the first oil change ( babied it) and about a half for the next 1500 after that, got petty depressed after hearing all the horror stories of v2's consuming oil still, but its been 1300 miles since the motors been broken in, and ive driven it fairly hard, and the oil is 100percent full at 1300 miles. s keeping my fingers crossed.

I put in about 500 miles since my last oil change and it looks like I lost 3-4mm so far. I wish they would just replace my motor just to get it done and over it. I know Im burning oil cuz when I did my last oil change I lost 1 1/2 qts after 4,000 miles.

Is this something that most people notice right away or does it develop over time? Seems that it happens within the first few 1000 miles.

I hate this feeling like most of have, the feeling of is it gona burn. This sucks. I have 500 miles on the new v2 and it seems ok so far, but who knows. my last one was good until 18000. as for the mods, i took mine to corona nissan with hks cat back and aem cold air and they said nothing, even after me bringing the car in with full body kit and test pipes. Take off the test pipes and you will be fine there. Just a little disapointed in the small things after engine swap. pw st fluid cap was loose/off, radiator fill tank not bolted down and few pieces of plastic over torqued and ripped. otherwise was good. No one hasseled me. Got rental car for 3 days and car was done in 2 or so. If i have to get a new car from all this bs it's gona be a nsx ftw

Finally - after a year of dealing with Nissan and my attorney I am bringing the car in for surrender this morning. Nissan stretched every deadline to the last possible minute. I was already on my second engine when i started the lemon law proceedings - stupid mistake. If the engine is burning oil, its a lemon, plain and simple. My second engine was burning almost as much oil as the first. California law states that any time a vehicle is brought in and a repair order is created, its considered a repair attempt. 3-4 attempts and its considered a lemon.
Please, don't hesitate to email me at justin.nigro@gmail.com if you want more info or non-legal advice or suggestions. I will no longer be on the forums as I have lost all faith in Nissan's vehicles and customer service.
