Im gonna check other dealerships before i do anything else. So they also asked for youre oil change receipts huh. Thats what i really need so to prove to them that i was really consistent on my oil changes and my biggest mistake was not saving them. If i can just find someone with oil purchase receipts that they will let me borrow in so cal, i would really apretiate it and of course with a generouse tip.
I rather pay a lil for some peices of receipts then be paying thousands for a new lower engine.. Im seriouse.

yeah I was like, they will buy me a new motor every 10K miles with the pounding I put on a block, until they get it right!
FYI I was told that my motor was a handbuilt engine from Japan. I did see the shipping invoice and the shipping cost was rediculous. Most engines that are not working are made in the good old state of New Mexico. Ask your dealers where the motor came from. Infiniti of Chantilly doesnt mess around, it took 4 weeks to get the motor (drove the then new G35X while I waited), but it was strong from the first mile I drove it. The car put down 406RWHP @8psi on a dyna pack dyno and runs with a G35 APSTT that put down 369 on a dyno dynamics @9psi. I think its becaue the motor was built right with less forgiveness in the tolerences.
it sucks, but all this time you spend driving like a granny, buy the time you are on your 3rd motor its 2 years down the road and you still dont know the limits of your car. Screw that, if it burns oil, go get a new motor.... but the time you spend with it should be enjoyable.
I'll admit, I'm getting tired of this. 3yrs, second engine and still experiencing some OC....

After 20k miles on the v2, last oil change was 7k miles ago (yeah i know) on Mobile1 Synth 5w30.
Half a quart low (between H and L marks) before I changed the oil.
I would say that's in line with what I would be expecting from a DD sport car that's occasionally driven hard.
Broken in using Nissan OEM oil until 1700 miles (again, I know- nice seeing all the little bits of metal in the oil) using Nissan guidelines under 4500rpm never WOT. After 1600/1700 drove it normal.

I'm running 100% Synth now, I'll see what happens concerning my OC. I'll even lower my standards to 24mm/5K with mine, but not even close to that yet...if ever.

It's official. I just became a member of the 06 Oil Consumption Crew. I just ripped 16K miles, and took it in for 2nd dealer provided oil change and told them about the problem/concern. They kept the car for a day. Did some "testing" and called me with the news. Nissan has ordered a new engine, and I'm supposed to get the car back this Friday. We'll see how that goes.
Anyways, thanks for all the forum info. It's a great help!!

Well, I have been taking it easy with breaking in my car according to manufactors suggestions of not revving over 4,000 RPM for the last 2000 miles. As previously stated, some have had great success with running it hard from the begining and some have not. Well, I will be experimenting by doing a little bit of both, so come next Sunday I will be taking my car to get Dyno and I will be having them to run 3 pulls to the redline. Lets see what happens.
I will report back...

Will, here is the 4th oil change on the freshly built 06 Rev-up. It’s the 2nd oil change interval with Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30.
****************************************
Data on the 2006 350Z freshly rebuilt engine.
Area: Curtis
Unit: 479
Nissan 2006 350Z manual transmission.
Engine: 3.5 L V-6 VQ35 300hp Rev-Up
Fuel: Shell V-Power 91 octane
Fuel additives: Yes
Air Filter: Amsoil EaA paper air filter.
Recent repairs: Swapped out OEM plugs with 35,859 miles on them for new Pulstar Plugs. (the original plugs were used with the engine swap, hence the 35k miles on them)
Mods: Nissan’ Nismo CAI and Catback exhaust system.
Driving habits: Daily driving, no track or autox. A few gradual romps up to 75% of redline. For the most part, no revs above 4000. 40/60 freeway/street.
Never overheats
Date of oil change: 11/10/08
Oil Type: Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30
Oil Filter: Amsoil Ea0
Miles on oil change interval: 3989 mi
Mileage on engine: 15,249 mi
Oil changed on regular intervals at 3750 mi.
Oil added on this interval = Zero
Oil loss = 0mm ZERO
On this oil change dated 11/10/08 the oil was swapped out for the SAME brand/weight: Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 and Amsoil Ea0 oil filter.
Follow up on the monitoring of coolant level: Zero loss at over flow reservoir.
Cheers
Curtis

Curtis, Hi!
Thanks for the UOA. It looks better in terms of wear. Iron and Copper have stabilized at 10ppm, while the rest of your metals have all dropped to 3ppm or less. I would still like to see 0ppm of chromium, though, given the fuel dilution amount.
Fuel dilution spiked back up this sample, which lowered your flash point of the oil. Surprisingly, it stayed in grade, though. I think PP handles fuel dilution quite well.
The moly raised in this sample, which was unexpected since you're using the same oil as last time. Maybe PP changed their formula slightly to include more moly, maybe the change is within a standard deviation. I don't know, but it is interesting.
Overall, it looks good and I'm sure you're glad not to be burning any oil off. Looks like another good V2 engine!

Does look good.
Like this part the best:
Oil added on this interval = Zero
Oil loss = 0mm ZERO
I'd say you've got a V2 winner so far. Hope it says that way after 15K

Bad luck just hit today....jk
But I did check the oil today and was down 5mm on 2378 miles into this oil change interval.
I think my bro took the reading on the morning of the oil drain from the above UOA, which leads me to believe he was seeing things....hence the Zero OC Loss as reported on the UOA.
I am writing that one off as a "mis read the dipstick".
