Thanks, I updated the previous post.
Just curious, what type/brand and weight are you running now, if any change?

Still 10w30, Pennzoil. The mechanic that did the swap had previous experience with swaps in the G35. He recommended a switch to 10w40 at the change.

My new engine for my '05 G35 6MT Coupe arrived from Japan, today. Car is going in tomorrow for the swap. I hope this resolves the OC issue.

I am running 5w-30 Castrol GTX dino, so far so good. During my initial OC testing the dealer suggested a heavier weight oil and did change it out to 10w-30 although the results were the same, it burned oil. Once this is all over I probably will run Mobil 1 0w-40 or Amsoil 0w-30 both are synth. I am pleased so far that it is not burning oil with the mfg recommended weight of 5w-30.

Awesome, looks like another success; I will update the V2 list. Thanks!

What oil did you settle on?

I am going to start updating the list with the type/brand oil currently using.

All the folks that had V2 & V1 installed engines please give us an update.

I am sold, and as soon as I hit the 4k mi mark I will probably swap it over. I am still reading the Oil Analysis thread.

Congrats on your V2!

Please do yourself a favor and check the part number on the actual box of the engine. Take the actual part sticker from the box, its peace of mind. Again congrats!

Let us know when install is completed so we can add you to the list.

im at apprx 2300miles, the first 1700 was weird, so i didnt pay attention to that except break in. at 1700 i had the oil changed(dino oil =(, no synth yet or for a while), and im currently 600miles into it. but since my mileage is still at the minimal stages, nothing i can see yet thats bad =D lets hope it stays that way.

My 06 6mt consumes about 1 quart every 2300 miles.. which equate to about 1.5 quarts every 3700 miles. My question is over a long period of time if my consumption does not get any worse what kind of damage if any will occur to my engine and or exhaust system??? I have a lot of mods to remove before taking it in for an OC test that would fall into an "acceptable" OC category.

I have not been driving much, but mine is 1qt per 3000 miles. I would label it as a 2 consuming oil for sure. Not nearly as much, but still consistent every 1000 miles.

You'll need to de-mod before you bring it in. The dealer will try to blame it on your mods, don't give them any excuses to deny it. Also, be sure to have your maintenance/oil change reciepts.

Oil consumption problems don't get any better as the car ages. I have
almost same consumption rate as you and I find it very hard to believe
Nissan finds this tolerable or normal. I am not gonna deal with the
whole take my car and replace engine 1 or 2 times, Lemon Law folks.
It's there for a reason, I have contacted an attorney already and I will
let you all know how it goes.
