question on gas

Default question on gas

hey guys, a mobil near my house has 110 octane.

would it be safe for my 04 track Z with an injen CAI?

and would i notice any difference?

Yes you will , a nice loss of power. If a car is not tuned or set up for higher octane all it does is takes away power and increase carbon buildup.

so ill just stick to the 93.

but it doesnt make sense...i thought more was better haha

Me Rolls eyes. You are NA, with an intake. You don't have turbo, you are not supercharged, you don't have nitrous, you don't need 110 octane unless you like to waste money. If you do, give it to the guy with a homeless sign.

Since its unleaded, its not going to hurt your car, but it wont help it either. You'll just be paying more for gas that's already expensive.

The higher octane rating means a slower burn.

That can lead to burned out exhaust valves and destroyed catalytic converters...

Bad stuff.

Hell yes. With 110 octane the 350Z will run like a screaming banshee and shot flames out the back.

well i knew it helped forced induction engines, but i was just wondering if it would help me too.

If you had a way to take advantage of it, such as management that would let you feed more timing into it - then you could get little gains. All things the same though, just dumping in that gas prob won't do much for you especially if the ecu isn't picking up any knock and pulling any timing on 93.
