don't do it. If you plan on running any mods it could make your engine detonate when it starts to get warm outside and if your area only has 91 octane fuel it will hurt the motor. to many negatives for unproven power imo!!!

First of all, it is not unproven power.
And B, isn't winter coming? And 3, you should do it. It isn't like it costs anything, and it isn't like you can't do it, listen to the motor, and if it pings going up a hill in warm type weather, get it bumped back down. All they do is plug a little handheld into the dash and puch a couple of buttons. Woop dee do. Try it out man. Don't let anyone make a decision for you except you.

IIRC, factory settings are 15 degrees +/- 4 degrees BTDC. Meaning, you should be able to run from 11 degrees BTDC to 19 degrees BTDC.
Here's an excellent article on Pre-Ignition and Detonation; there is info in it on how ignition timing affects it: http://www.streetrodstuff.com/Articl...e_Basics_I.php

Here in PR is always 90+ Temp. I have Headers, TD Exhaust, injen, Cat pipes and Pulley... the car have some Detonation on the dyno but not because of the ign. timing (lean cond.) its was the opposed, to rich on the high rpm's ... I put the Iridium SP and the car feels better than ever ![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
PS here we have 93 gas that I recommend to use always!
