Default is this normal?

i drove a 03 350z track model. Whenever i try to shift fast, it grinds.. FYI, i drove WRX for 2 yrs.
I kinda feel the delay when press in the clutch and trying to shift fast. It feels like the clutch doesn't engage fast enough. Possibly clutch wear? or is it normal?
I drove about 3 350zs so i'm not sure about the feeling.

hmm sounds like your not lifting your foot off the clutch fast enough... i only get a grind when i dont lift off fast enough when shifting gears. Also, wrx and a 350z clutch are not the same. Like the car god said not all Clutch systems are created equal. amen :0P

my brother has a 2005 wrx, the clutches are totally opposite, the wrx is much smoother than the 350z. imo.

If I remember correctly, that's kind of problem with at least the '03s. I had an '05 and never had the problem. Well, except for when I let the clutch out too quickly.

I am thinking you should stay with the WRX.

The 350Z clutch-transmission is notchy. You have to work the clutch and shift just right. You might say that it is finicky.
