The 05 uses none and has 57k on it. The 03 uses 1 quart every 4k and now has 120k on it. Its burned the same amount of oil since i bought it with 37k 4 years ago. Also i burn 1/2 quart a day when on the racetrack.

Your car is fine,Every time I get my oil changed I check the dipstick the same day and it is always at the halfway point, that means its full. The dipsticks in these cars are weird though and my car is a 2006.I dont know if the dipstick changed from 2003 to 2006.

I have an 03 89k no oil consumption. My friend J3dz has an 06 with 90k + and it eats oil.

No, not until 07'. The oil drains out of the heads and past the dipstick, so you have to wait 10 minutes or so with the car off to get an accurate reading.

i have a 03' and im running castrol syntec euro formula-0-30w
mine burns a lot, the oil light will start comming on during harsh braking/accell
in about 5000 miles into an oil change.i have a short ram and dual exhaust.
im at 40,000 miles and its getting worse since the last 15,000 miles.

i added a catch can and noticed it fills up pretty quick.

i live in redwood city CA, and it gets pretty hot like 90+ degree's a lot.

my engine bay gets so hot my ground wires "stillen" turned like a burnt orange
color when they used to be clear.

im switching my oil to a "REAL synthetic oil" and getting amsoil 0-30w.
i researched and everyone said castrol syntec is a real synthetic, but amsoil told me different, said it used the phrase fully synthetic which also means its a synthetic blend that uses a different base oil.

im also getting a nismo thermosat, nismo radiator cap and amsoil coolant
which is proven to drop engine temperature significantly.

got amsoil powersteering fluid which is simply there ATF fluid.

and motul rbf600 dot 4 brake and clutch fluid to work under better heat conditions.

im adding headers and i know they add a lot of heat to an engine bay and im hoping this will balance it out.

ill have to keep posting to see whether the amsoil eliminates my oil burning symptoms.i hope a hot hot engine isnt what causes oil burning

oo yea and for all you that have been trusting mobil 1's good name in oil,
there synthetic oil is GARBAGE now.
they switched over to a crappier base oil like 5 years ago and kept there prices in a good range for max sales. Id like to know if anyone can help me prove this...
under used oil analysis' "UOA's" on our engines i remember them being pretty bad, but almost anyone you talk to thinks there oil is the **** or something.

I just had my oil changed and I asked the mechanic if he could check to see if it was low due to the terrible dipstick.

He told me after draining it was low 1.25 quarts. I had used Castrol Sythetic and had about 4,000 miles Plus one track day in the mid-summer.

Should I be concerned?
