Got the kit and installed it today. Took about 45 minutes, very easy to do. Looks great and the motor definetely feels smoother at idle and WOT. I'm pleased with the kit-the wires look great. Thanks for the kit and the little extra gift insaneamine.

question: If I didn't want to punch a hole to get to the battery, where else would you go to reach the battery? Pics would be nice too

I have sent insaneamine an email with ordering questions. Can somone who has ordered from him already explain to me the process. Do I simple go onto PayPal and place my order, or do I need to trade information with him first?

Thanks.

I ordered a set very recently but don't like PayPal (call me paranoid) so I just sent a check. When it clears it will be sent. He needs your address and stuff to work out shipping charges. He was very helpful and a pleasure doing business with. I'm sure the product will live up to expectations also.

Cool Ever thought about testing for voltage variaton?

As an old retired auto electritian, and a owner of a touring 350Z
I cant wonder how many ways someone can spend money on a perfictly good car, but has anyone ever checked to see if all these cables are really needed to provide a better ground path for not anymore than 25 amps when running. This overkill is what we had to do on the big hi compression engines in the 70s to get the starter to start the car. Come on guys I havent had the time to check for a voltage variation yet but I'll bet not more then 1/10 of one volt. meaning not necessary.

Default it's not the 70's any more

Come on Jerry, read the start of this thread. We're not talking 1/10 of a volt drop to start the car. The information being transfered to the ECU is measured in millavolts and millamps. The RF noise created by the spark plug coils alone can interfere with the signals going to and from the ECU from the various sensors on the engine. A shorter and more direct ground reduces or eliminates the effect that the RF has on these signals. It effectivly cleans out the "static" in the signals going to and from the ECU. The dyno results also show an inprovement.

It is a simple thing that works. I know, I have had one since 1,500 miles on my Z.

I sent an email to Insaneamine and I can't hear anything from him so far. Well it's been only 2 days since I emailed him and obviously he seems he is busy. I visited his website and requested the order from there (got the email address from there and mailed him). Gotta try PM'ing him through this forum and wait a bit more til I hear from him.

Hey everyone!

My PC is always on! Kind of like, "my door is always open."

I can be reached at:

InSaNeAmine@***.net

Z-Xtreme@***.net

AND NOW through www.Z-Xtreme.com

I usually answer requests the same day, if not in minutes.

Also, PLEASE include your address if you are requesting a kit - it will expedite the process. I am currently working on a "Shopping Cart" for my website to automate this.

Thanks again for everything!

P.S. JAZZ FEST starts this week!!! w00t!

jerrycua,

I did the grounding kit after owning the car for about 3 weeks. Since I dont really believe in motor break-in I put the RPM right up there from about 300miles on. The motor had a very noticeable vibration at high RPM. You have to have noticed it if you drive the Z. After installing the kit the engine vibration is greatly improved. Also, the idle RPM are lower and the charge guage is farther over to the right.

Just honest observations.

Installed my kit last night. Easy install. Took over an hour because I was so fussy about positioning of the cables. Got the cable to the -ve through the rubber in front of the battery so that I didn't have to touch the battery cover - looks good. Also, fed the cable from the chassis earth upwards and over to the middle engine point so that it fit better with the original earth cable. Idle is lower as everyone has commented and the ride out this morning was also noticeably though subtly sweeter through the arc. Kit looks cool, great quality. Thanks InSaNeAmine.

Default Grounding kit

Snake Oil. Show me a double blind crossover study. All of this is anecdotal.

I haven't installed a grounding kit yet (I'm still waiting on the dealer ) but I don't think the dyno charts showing a very slight increase are anecdotal. Opinions on smoothness etc are of course subjective.

Bottome line, if the people who are paying for them are happy that's all that matters.

They are an option in Japan. My dealer hadn't heard of them but was intrigued.
Anyway, how can you have too much ground?? Even if you didn't think it helped, it certainly can't hurt!!
