I don't think it was a personal jab of any sort. From years and years participating in forums like these, I find that many people (myself included) often tend to overexplain things just for the sake of completeness in case other less knowledgeable folks might be reading along in the thread.

you people are okay... i probably should be flamed hard, as a noob coming at an authorized site vendor like that.

i have to learn to remember that how i picture it in my mind doesn't always make it correct in real terms.

I'm concerned as to why no one has showed up with a kit yet. If they sold out of the first batch, then what is taking so long for people to get them and/or post about it? Does this mean they are already selling into the second or third batch and not one person has contributed any first-hand information?

You haven't seen any yet because Cometics has yet to sell the headgaskets required for the new bore. I spoke to them last week and the new gaskets have been designed they are just about ready to sell. Probably one more week. Then the machine shops who have the few stroker kits ready to go can finish building their motors.

I just spoke to cometics today and they are still waiting on some tool they need to finish production of their headgaskets. So probably another couple of weeks.

Cometic still has not released the head gaskets for the stroker. We had a set of stock ones cut and they look perfect.

Default i guess this Stroker kit isn't meant for daily driving?

cant be used for daily driving on 91/93 octane PumpGas????

is this true?
someone said the company made it for drag racing purposes only?

It all depends on the tune. Right now there is not much out there for tuning the 350z. Most companies can't get around drive-by-wire. The ECU we are using will be able to tune the stroker or any modified or stock engine from a daily driver to full out race applications. The stroker motor that we are installing will have maps for full race gas and also for 93 octane.

Is your stroker for NA for FI? What compression are you running? Also, what ECU are you using? Do the anti-lock brakes and VDC still work?

Thanks and good luck with your project.

Jeff,

The stroker is setup for forced induction. The compression is 8.5:1. We are designing a plug and play ecu for the z using the Magnetti Mirelli ecu. This is the same ecu used in F1 cars. It will actually be very affordable compared to other engine managements on the market. We will either be offering a piggy back system so your VDC and everything else would work or a stand alone system. We will know within the month what is the best option to provide.

I think I've heard of people setting up a stand-alone ECU that passes thru data to the stock ECU to get VDC and everything to continue to work. The stock ECU is ignored in terms of engine control. I'm just curious if that trick truly works. Seems like the stock ECU might figure out things aren't working correctly in open loop situations and flake out (e.g. emissions feedback).

Thanks,
Jeff

Z1 Auto has a customer that has an AEBS stroker kit, and GReddy 20G turbo kit. Just recently had an accident in his Z and now is building the G35c up.

hmm that's too bad

does anyone have any info on what numbers he was putting down

was the accident caused by having so much power or was it something else?
